Ed Werder‏@Edwerderespn3m
Source says Seahawks engaged in trade discussions involving backup QB Matt Flynn and a deal appears "imminent.'' Trade partner unknown

Brock just mentioned this on 710espn radio

Just came across this tweet suggesting link to Cowboy's

JohnEMack‏@johncmack3m
@DavisHsuSeattle Since Werder broke this, I can't help but think the Cowboys are involved. Probably because that's all he used to cover.

Curtis Crabtree‏@Curtis_Crabtree3m
Oakland Raiders only have around $3 million in cap space. Don't think they make sense (right now) without additional moves to cut money.

And now it's come full circle . . . back to OAK

Jason La Canfora‏@JasonLaCanfora17m
If the Flynn to Oakland trade gets completed, as expected, look for Seattle to consider Tyler Thigpen as a back-up to Russell Wilson

Well the only team reported to be "seriously interested" is the Raiders, so I have to guess that it is to Oakland.

Buffalo Bills. We get a 2nd and we and we send them a 6th.

If it's the Raiders, I'm expecting no less than 5 1st round picks

Man, I really don't like this. It better be no worse than a 4th.

I'm sure they have a plan, I just don't like not knowing it lol. If Wilson goes down... then what?

Well if he wants to move on and get a starting job, then all power to him. Just wish we could keep him in case Wilson gets hurt.

This could get interesting. I really hope it somehow includes a 2nd rd pick, but I doubt it.

I'm wondering if we sign Abraham as soon as this trade goes through?

Wouldn't be surprised at all. I've figured all along we'd either get value for him or keep him. Getting value for him seems to be the best overall option. I am just interested to see what the plan is for a backup when it does happen.

I am hoping for a 3rd. That is what a good backup QB is worth (or so Bill Polian said when we drafted Russell Wilson). Anything less than a 3rd, and I really feel we would not be getting equal value, considering we would need to use a draft pick on a QB or sign a mediocre vet now.

Yeah, it's really nice to have the added security of a good backup like Flynn.

I would think we won the lottery if we pulled a 4th, honestly.

I think they're mostly OK now from all the dumb moves the late Al Davis made (Richard Seymour, Carson Palmer, Jason Campbell, etc).

pretty glad I went to the first training camp stopped by the sports authority tent and almost bought a flynn jersey, , then looked down on the field and saw #3 and realized it wasn't going to be that simple.

Yup, you're right. They're only missing a 2nd and a 5th this year. Interesting...

I liked the scenario brought up some where yesterday that had them trading draft picks with Oakland that would be cool with me get the 3rd pick in the 3rd round and they get ours no one loses.

Sounds like Matt Flynn heading to Oakland via trade, and Carson Palmer will be on his way out (possibly to AZ). trying to nail down details

Guessing it will be a swap of 3rd round picks + conditional 2014 pick.

I'm a lifelong, diehard Ohio State Buckeye fan. Please, please, please, please, please, please NO Terrelle Pryor. I don't want to have to root for that [insert expletive here].

I think La Canfora just tweeted that we may go after Tyler Thigpen to back up Wilson. If true, that probably means no Pryor.

Personally, if we get a fourth and swap seconds, that would be a huge win. A HUGE win.

Trading Flynn for a 4th or worse makes no sense whatsoever. This would make the team weaker immediately. A team with legit SB aspirations and a rock solid
QB situation trades away security for a late round pick...? I don't see it.

Got to be at LEAST a 3rd...and I see some sort of escalator based on performance as mandatory.

Schneider has made a lot of great moves, but I can't recall where he got amazing value for a player. Most of his player trades were perceived as being sub-par value, but turned out OK (Josh Wilson, Rob Sims, Seneca Wallace, Lawrence Jackson, etc), mostly because of how well he did replacing those players.

Wishing Flynn the best on his endeavors in Oakland. Sad to see a friend leave, but excited for his opportunity. Great QB, even better man.

I don't see how Matt Flynn provides security for SB aspirations. We can find a backup who can come in and win a couple games if need be with these weapons and this defense for cheaper, and there's nothing to suggest Flynn can take us to the promised land if Wilson were out indefinitely. He's just a guy.

Think about it this way: With the cash saved, Schneider can lock up Kam and maybe even sign another guy (Branch? Abraham?). He can also find a backup QB that better fits the offense.

This also saves about 9M next year if I recall correctly, so he would be making this team better now and in the future.

Trading Darryl Tapp for Clem and a draft pick would be the biggest example of Schneider getting "amazing value." Maybe the only one?
