Free agency starts tomorrow at 1 pacific time I believe?
So give me your best guess:
1. The first free agent the Seahawks sign (agreeing to a deal with Percy Harvin doesnt count): Who will it be, and when will it be?
2. The first Seahawk to sign a deal elsewhere.
My prediction: The first free agent we sign will be Charles Woodson. Thursday afternoon.
First Seahawk to sign elsewhere: Jason Jones to Detroit, Tuesday evening. (I think Seattle would like to have him back but Detroit offers more years making them more appealing)

No way on Woodson. Desmond Bryant on Wednesday. Jason Jones is the obvious pick, but I'll hang myself out on a limb and say Obo gone on Tuesday.

After the trade today I think we might overpay a bit for a guy like Bryant just to land him. It certainly appears we're not waiting to try and win it in a couple years but going all in right now. _________________

I expect the first FA we sign to be a very minor one (someone to provide depth/competition at a particular position), as I don't expect the Hawks to go 'all in' on any Michael Bennett/Desmond Bryant-type upper-tier FA's in the first couple of days (not that I'd mind if they did, though). So I'll go with Giants LB Keith Rivers, a former player of Carroll/Norton's at USC, to compete for the WLB job, and to provide depth at all 3 LB positions and contribute on ST's.
The first to sign elsewhere, I'll say, will be Alan Branch. There's always a market for scheme-versatile run-stuffers his size, and teams will be intrigued by his 2011 season. I expect Jason Jones' injury question marks to prolong his signing as teams do their due dilligence, and as his agent works to negotiate a best offer.

Jason Jones will join Detriot Tuesday and a lot of .Net will freak out about losing pass rushers then an hour or two later Abraham will sign with the Seahawks.
