I'm pretty sure it was made up by some wannabe draft expert on TV. Probably Kiper.

I wouldn't mind signing Freeney as a third string LEO/occasional pass rush specialist.
I reckon that role warrants a veteran minimum contract.
Think he'll take a veteran minimum contract to be a deep backup?

I don't think so. The problem with our Leo DE position is we can go three ways this year; 1. Sign a cheap fix like Freeney or Abraham and hope that Clemons fully recovers by Oct/Nov 2. Go after the best available DE in the first round of the draft 3. Go big and sign Kruger or Avril The problems with solutions #1 or #2 is you're hoping things go as planned. Too many unknowns (can Freeney or Abraham play well and/or not get hurt and can Clemons recover. #2? Now we have two rookie DE's learning on the job.......that can be bad news for a team desperately needing sacks. Obviously #3 is the best solution for 2013, but that comes with a heavy cost and cap hit. Which may mean losing important players next year.

No the problem with the LEO position is that its not the problem. Absolutely we need depth. But we've got two starters at one position already. Irvin will start. Clemons will be coming back by midseason at the latest. Whoever we sign/draft will be our third option at the one position, and come in on long passing downs as a specialist.
The best option is sign a second tier FA and/or use a mid-late draft pick on a high upside backup and specialist. That's all we really need there. Use our cap and/or draft capital on interior pass rushers, and 5 tech pass rushers to rotate with Bryant.

Dunno how cheap he'll come. Word is that Denver is looking at him if Dumervile won't take a pay cut.

Clemons will be coming back by midseason at the latest But it is a problem, because one of those starters won't be ready until October at the earliest........and that's if Clemons can even come back and be as effective as before the injury. Not a sure thing. Therefore we have no choice but to either sign a free agent DE, draft one, or both. Personally I like the both option. Sign Freeney or Abraham, draft a DE to groom and then by mid season we've got plenty of depth and time to find out if Clemons can return to form.

I think Impactful should be added to the Urban Dictionary.
