just like we acquired a "semi-big name" QB through FA then drafted a earlyish QB and make them Compete.
why cant we do the same for a DE or even a DT? It fits Pete's philosophy perfectly.

This is actually what I expect to happen. I figure the Seahawks will sign a WR, a DE and DT (or maybe a DE or a DT), and maybe an LB. Then, when draft time comes they'll have the positions "filled" and then just draft the best player available at those positions.

Rosters are always churning. Need to fill those 80ish preseason spots with somebody.
Anyone brought in, whether in FA or the draft, will compete with players already on the roster.
