Been with us 6 years. Anyone think this guy would be a big loss? Honestly I have no idea what he does, other than the fact he is a part of our front office and does some work with the salary cap.

I think he's a bean counter type, someone who should be pretty easy to replace. So long as we retain our talent scouts, I am not worried.

He is much more than just a bean counter. A very smart and personal man. We have heard very little in the way of ugly contract negotiations or cap problems since John arrived in Seattle. He is also very active in player evaluations. When John Schneider first came on-board, early organizational projections had John Idzik at the same level as JS. He now reports to Schneider. He came from the Cardinals in 2006 probably to replace Reinfeldt after he moved on to the Titans. The Seahawks have done some pretty team friendly deals in regard to cost and protection, so I think he is good at helping to manage the cap. Good on him that he also was active in these other areas. It makes him that much more valuable.
Not sure I would want to take on the Jets and have to keep Ryan but this is what these guys strive for. Hope he chooses wisely. Good for him if he gets hired on by them.

Hope we have someone who has been learning under him who can step up. He seems to be doing a good job after reading the stuff that he does.
