-- To those of you who still argue that it has no effect, you just saw exhibit A. What were the two things in that first half that we usually do well, but just couldn't do at all? Block and tackle, and they are coincidently the two most physical aspects of a football game. It is hard to smash heads when your body says it's 10:15am. I don't want to hear the excuses about how the playoff schedule is set in advance. So is the NFL schedule, but they make adjustments to protect those east coast teams from flying west. Basically they are saying that an east coast team can't fly east twice in a year to play at the same game time they often play at home, but it's fine for the west coast teams to fly east as many times as necessary, and play at an AM time they never do at home. Seems about right. It's not an excuse for losing the game, giving up 41 yards on two pass plays created that, just it's a fact that the NFL should at least acknowledge and a league.
-- But to the team, spectacular effort today to get that far down, and battle all the way back for a lead. On the road, early start, coming off a long travel week, playing a solid #1 seed, and NEVER quitting. There are not compliments strong enough for Wilson, and our other rookies will continue to improve. This team is pretty damn good already, and the arrow is pointing up. Gonzalez and Miller just proved today how difficult it is to handle good TEs. If Wags identifies that pass a split second earlier, maybe they never get that field goal off. Remember this pain you feel now, and unleash it on every opponent next year.
THANKS FOR AN AMAZING YEAR, HAWKS.

it wasn't the 10am start so get off your excuses...you lost a game that went both ways, your team wasnt superior in any way, both teams made mistakes and led to that type of game....both teams had a chance to win the game the only difference is ATL had the ball last and drove the field, if anything the teams were even, Hawks at the best of the game and Falcons at the best of the game = pretty even teams

Especially as we were 1-4 in 10am games this year (and 11-2 in the rest)

These guys have been playing football all of their lives. 9 a.m., 10 a.m., 6 p.m., 8 p.m., etc, etc. etc. This is nothing new for the game of football. If a start time of a football game affect professionals then they need to go to arena football or something and let the real professionals play. The problem was that they underestimated the Falcons. Didn't think we could run the ball and didn't think we could stop the run and thought that your top ranked defense had an easy match. We outplayed you guys in the first half and you outplayed us the first half. I knew that this game was going to be close even with that big lead. The great teams battling it out. I know one thing. I don't want to see you guys next year. Your rookie QB is the truth. Maybe they should let him sling the ball. The reason why we done so well this year is because the new coordinator is letting Matt sling the ball.

You can be as prepared and fired up as you want, there's a reason why in the entire history of the NFL only one west coast team EVER has won two road playoff games on the east coast in the same season.

-- Not just our team, genius. This is a league wide issue. Do you even know that if the schedule, arranged years ago, said you had to come to Seattle and to San Fran in one season, magically one of those would become a home game for you, and one of your division rivals would suddenly travel out here. Do you know it doesn't work that way for West Coast teams going East? Have your Falcons EVER played a game when it was 10am eastern time? Really, how come?
-- Yes, the two teams work out very even, thus a win for you by 2points. In your own house. So do the math, neutral field we are better, in Seattle you lose by 17, at least. Don't get your knickers in a bundle, just head off to the Niner board. You won. Enjoy it. Please enjoy it again next week.

Gotta agree with the late start.
Im all for playing this exact game. but at a 4 pm start. Even Billick said it on the radio. We were the only team in playoffs asked to do that. Ill play on the road ANYWHERE, just give us our normal start time.

Is the 10 AM start a disadvantage?....yes, of course.
Is it fair?...yes, of course....we make our own bed in the regular season. Can't lose bad games in Detroit and Miami and expect to get homefield advantage in the playoffs.

I wouldnt mind 10 am games if the NFL got rid of that rule that east coast teams dont have to travel west too many times a season.
If they make concessions to make it easier for east coast teams then they should definatly make concessions to make it easeier for west coast teams and move those games to to the afternoon.

Of course Atlanta or any other east coast team wouldn't understand, the earliest they ever start is 1pm.

Mase Get home field by winning in the regular season and this will be a non-issue.

So now even our own discussions on issues that pertain to us are riddled with Falcons smack and we have to defend ourselves from them? They've been here all week. We've each exchanged the congrats on the game, and good luck moving forward posts. Now I think it's time for a few of them to just stop interjecting into every Seahawks related discussion. Sorry.... but there's a time and a place, and this is how our fans deal with it.... they don't need to be dealing with a Falcons Fan Hydra that wouldn't have had a word to say on this discussion if not for the re-kick. Time for them to shut it down and move on to the 9ers board I think. I'm not saying to ban anybody at all. I just think that their business is done here. Time to move on. Go talk your team up to 9ers fans, and then remember how kind everybody was here, because 9ers fans are abysmal. Adios. Good luck. Go enjoy your victory.
