It all goes back to pressure on the qb. You can't cover good receivers forever and in zone coverage a qb will pick any d apart given time. We have the best 4 DBS in football. We don't however have a pass rush.

If it wasn't for Sherman and ET, Legion of Boom would be Legion of Doom. No Strong Safety is a Coverage specialist, especially in this defensive scheme. Get real. Can't believe you are even making that point. He doesn't have to a damn specialist...he should be able to at least keep players in front of him and make a play on the ball. I'm not saying he's been crap all season but to say he's not a liability in coverage is BS.

He definitely has struggled in coverage this year, but I think it would help if we had a reliable nickel guy. I would LOVE WTIII to be healthy and play the slot, or for Lane to develop into that role, but right now we're easily exploited in certain looks. The Falcons had a lot of good plays where they managed to get Gonzalez on Chancellor and a slot receiver/RB on Trufant. I'm pretty sure the coaching staff expected this because Guy was out there much more than he ever was earlier in the year.
The Hawks are probably the only team that can come close to "winning" the matchups vs. the Falcons offense. You just have to score more. The Seahawks did enough to win this game, but just gave it away in about 20 seconds after fighting back into the game.

I like cam but at va tech he was a huge liability when it came to the pass. As a pro he has gotten better a lot better. I didnt like the pick at first because he wasnt that good at playing the pass in college. He could hit like a ton of bricks. I would still rather have him than not dude is a beast.

I thought Winston Guy let Gonzalez make more catches than Kam. T. Gonzalez is one of a kind. Thank goodness we don't have to face him ever again (he has stated multiple times that he will retire after this season).
