Hawks Sign Patrick Chukwurah replacing Clem

The Essential Online Seahawks Fan Forum Community. There simply is NO substitute. RATING: PG-13
  • 5% body fat at 250lbs?

That's some hard work he does in the gym. No surprise he's a personal trainer.

Not like there was a ton of elite DE's knocking around. Maybin and Edwards are 'name' players but there's a reason they aren't in the league.

Hes sure to take over Irvins old spot on the defense. We are gonna ask this guy to do nothing other than rush the passer. It makes sense in this situation

basically a 250lb man with 5% body fat has same amount of muscle as 270lb man with 12% body fat.

  • He played for Gus Bradley, he's fast, he's mean-looking, he's got that body-fat thing going on, I smell a Bruce Irvin 2.0. I smell championship. Dunno why I love this move so much.

  • I think it's the deal where they are going to maximize his strength and minimize his weaknesses. Bradley sounds like he has familiarity with him. At least you can kind of see what they are thinking.

  • Probably a stupid question, but do you guys think Chukwurah will take Clem's spot? Or will Bruce take Clem's spot and Chukwurah take Irvin's spot as more of a situational guy?

Well, this makes the Ryan Longwell signing a bit of a head scratcher.

Does it? Chukwurah can line up to kick, take a direct snap, then can either perform a dropkick OR coffin corner punt. The Falcons are screwed now that the Seahawks signed the NEW Nigerian Nightmare (Sister Christian Okoye texted me permission to use that).

  • Someone on Twitter asked Brock if he was in game shape. He responded saying something to the nature of "No way Carroll would let Schneider sign me." Guessing Carroll doesn't care for Brock. This is a fairly low risk signing. If the guy is in decent enough shape, he will only have one job. Get the quarterback. He will probably be very situational, if used at all. I was thinking the other day about the CB we signed off the street years back. What was his name?

let me point it out for everyone. on WHY PATRICK CHUKWURAH is on our team.
    1) Nigeria is on the SAME continent as TANZANIA.
    2) Nigeria AND Tanzania both share the same common language..

I just don't understand how we all missed the connection.

  • For the record he isn't replacing Clem. Irvin is replacing Clem in the system. He is fine for special teams and as an occasional edge rusher. He won't have that much impact in this game anyway. If he does it would be ridiculous.

  • This guy will be a situational pass rusher and depth on STs.

This could actually be a good signing. The UFL keeps guys in good game shape and this guy will have a limited role. If all he has to do is go after the QB on passing downs, he could be fine.

  • Well this is a fascinating development.

He'll be nothing more than a spare tire at the bottom of the depth chart in case (god forbid) something happens to irvin or scruggs, but who knows... Maybe he comes in and has a Rocky Balboa "stuff in the basement" kind of performance. That'd be cool.

It's funny. I had an epiphany driving home that we were going to sign Ricki Foley. LOL. Silly Canhawk...

  • way i see it is he'll come in on third downs or 2nd and longs where we suspect pass. He'll be told to beat his man 1 on 1 and take ryans head off. WE are playing on turf, in a dome, where speed counts. and if this guy still has his speed, and some motivation, he could make an impact. He'll probably only play 10-15 snaps unless he just impresses in practice this week. but he's in shape, has some nfl experience and the speed that the FO likes. How hard is it to chase ryan around the pocket a few times.

Sounds good to me. id rather have a few guys rotating in to keep em all fresh anywayz. ATL passes more than it runs. im on board

  • Two words: CHASE BLACKBURN.
    Three words: SUPER BOWL VICTORY.
PATRICK CHUKWURAH <=> CHASE BLACKBURN (Seahawks version)
One word: TANZANIA (had to throw that in)

The ONLY reason the NY Giants were Super Bowl Champs was the incredible play by Chase Blackburn, covering Rob Gronkowski on a Brady scramble, sprinting back after being beaten, and then out-jumping Gronk for the ball, and coming down with the pick. Unbelievable!! NOT supposed to happen!! Who is this guy? That play, by CHASE BLACKBURN, more than any other allowed the Giants to win. (Just barely more so than the Mario Manningham sideline tightrope play)
    http://www.nj.com/giants/index.ssf/2012 ... ckbur.html

I just get the feeling this guy PATRICK CHUKWURAH will be involved in a key play somewhere, a sack, cause a fumble, recover a fumble and return it for a score. Somewhere along the road, he will make a key play. I trust the FO judgment on this. I expect they will only ask him to do things he can do, and use him as a situational pass rusher on clear passing situations.
    Two (bad) words: Etric Pruitt.
Three (bad) words: (Seahawks) Super Bowl Loss.
That's the difference between the John Schneider front office and the Tim Ruskell front office.

Patrick Chukwurah for the win. Book it!!
