Its plays like that the other players on the team see and say "Wow, our rookie QB plays balls to the wall every damn play, I personally OWE it to him to do the same". Any time someone thinks about dogging it or taking a second off, plays like that are going to be there in their mind and force them to keep going hard. And it is infectious. Marshawn sees that, then next practice makes a play like that, and KJ Wright takes note, and it just snowballs.

Also, on a similar note, I think that is why this team is coming together so well is because of things like that. They aren't going hard just for themselves, they are going hard for the guy that sits at the locker next to them.

Reminded me of The Hass running down field and trying to lead block on the Beaskquake run. Love that kind of player.

Russell said Marshawn is always telling him that he's "got his back" no matter what, and so he (Wilson) feels obliged to have Marshawn's back in whatever way possible, and sometimes that means sprinting down field to play fullback on a TD run in the playoffs.

I think you are dead on. This type of play does a hell of a lot to develop team rapport. They already respect the hell out of Dangeruss for his arm, intelligence, dedication, and leadership, but when he starts going downfield to block for his teammates, that takes it to a whole new level. This is the kind of thing which makes a WR like Golden Tate want to throw his body into a linebacker like Sean Lee. Every player on our offense, and probably even guys on defense, will sell out their bodies to make a play. Russell is leading by example and everyone on the entire team is on board.
