i just hope Trufant isn't starting in the nickel, he was getting torn apart against the rams.
Trufant is the guy offenses will pick on in 3rd and long situations.

He had 1 good pass deflection but Trufant has been a year long problem on 3rd and long through out the entire season.
this was definitely one of his better games though

I think Trufant did surprisingly well against Amendola (One of the best, maybe the best slot WR in the game at the moment), the pass rush allowed the secondary to get carved up quite a bit, still only 13 total points however.

"Marcus Trufant was back, and was abused. He had a great break-up in the endzone, but was many steps behind receivers all day. The coaching staff needs to think long and hard about whether they are better off with the certainty of Trufant getting beaten or the uncertainty of Jeremy Lane or Byron Maxwell in the slot with Brandon Browner coming back. Trufant will always make the decisions he is supposed to within the defensive scheme, but is physically incapable of winning most match-ups."

Kudos to whomever called this, think it was Kearly that suggested they were just waiting to get Browner back.

I stand corrected, a little birdy just told me it was Hawkstorian who posted about Thurmond.

He was picked on all throughout the game. I can remember only a COUPLE of plays that he made a play.

He also go lucky on a few where the receiver couldn't catch the ball or Bradford threw a bad pass. Other then that, I hate to say but Trufant sucks!

Also, the last drive of the Miami game... it was all Trufant. Dude can't cover and got used a ton to help them win. Yes, i bring up the Miami game cus that was the difference in us winning the division the last 5 games.

As expected.

Given that the Superbowl is still 5 weeks away, I take this as a huge vote of confidence in Lane/Maxwell, because unless Thurmond had the worst hamstring injury ever, he'd probably be cleared by the NFCCG or the Superbowl. Lane and Maxwell have shown some real growth over the last few weeks. I still think we can do better than either of them, although I no longer think either one is just a special teams caliber player anymore.

Trufant was the beneficiary of many dropped passes I believe. One play for sure he deflected but he got burnt A LOT.

Why all the Trufant hate? I think the move to the inside was a good one for him.

I prefer to say that he's gotten too old for the position, not that he sucks. He did make a few Pro Bowls, and played in the Super Bowl.

And no way in hell would I blame us losing the division on him. That's a bunch of coulda, woulda, shoulda. Starting to sound like a Packer's fan.

Glad Browner is back though, still have memories of that strip stop on a Newton pitch and running down AP which was extremely impressive, plus beastly on special teams.

If I hate on Trufant, its because he never knows where the ball is. Hate is a strong word though, I prefer to say Come on man!
The funny thing is, Trufant was looking when he broke up that pass in the end zone to Amendola?. Thats what I'm talking about.
