Any chance Lane takes over the nickel corner spot now?

Please say yes.

Oh god yes. Trufant was targeted an awful lot today.

Yeah, Tru made one good play in the end zone but was a liability otherwise.

Tru, knock him all you want but he has the best hips to change direction, he was with the slot guy on most plays. They are professionals also, the played contain and a zone like defense a lot to prevent the Rams quick receivers for busting RAC runs.

Tru wasn't as bad as people are thinking, but I really hope (and think) Lane takes the spot. He's been very good in substitution lately.

I don't recall Lane doing that well against Amendola in the slot in this game. Trufant actually did OK, Amendola is really good in the slot.

Who would the Hawks be facing in the slot from the Cowboys/Skins?

Lane got beat more than once today, and I think Tru would have at least made that tackle that Lane blew.

Agreed. Lane blew a few assignments today but he's got a lot of upside.

Based on the Fox footage: Trufant played OK today I thought. Lane looked shaky out there today.

Trufant has been bad all year. Remember how bad he got lit up against Miami?

If we play Washington I hope the nickelback is Lane. Trufant just doesn't have the speed to stay with Santana Moss.

It's not about speed, it's about quickness, quick shifty guys have given our bigger corners problems if we don't play up and knock them off routes. Guys that can start and stop then start again at full speed.

Gotta stick with Trufant. I want a Superbowl ring as a retirement gift for him.

I'm still not convinced Lane is much of an upgrade.

Losing Thurmond sucks.

Tru made a couple good plays. But he was targeted all day.

Last I saw Thurmond was just out of the Rams game with hamstring issues, and NOT placed on IR by the team.
He put out a confusing tweet that said he'd be back next YEAR, i.e., 2012 is almost over and the next game he plays will be in 2013.
If someone has better info, please share. I recall seeing an article where Pete mentioned his injury, and it simply sounded like Thurmond needed a couple weeks more to heal.

Lane and Tru are both 3's at best at this point, luckily that's all we need them to be. We'll be fine.

Trufant's speed is fine his reactions are a bit slower than they used to be. There were a couple plays today where he saw the break but his body just wouldn't get him there quick enough.

I say let them compete this week, they both do some things really well.

My biggest fears for this matchup are how well we can contain Santana Moss in the slot, and on offense how well RW can handle the disguises & presnap shifts that Haslett will throw at him.

While Santana's receptions are down, his avg. & TDs are up and he is still very dangerous.
