As this regular season winds down and different teams have succeeded while others are blown up it makes me think of all the hilarious predictions which turned out to be absurd in the end that I have had over the years.

This is not meant to be a crow thread - no apologies - just somewhere to chuckle about crazy thing we have thought.

I'll start -

I though that Owen Schmidt would be a pro bowl level player in the NFL and that Tyler Schmidt - the long snapper - was a reasonable pick in the 6th round considering the circumstances.

I didnt think Browner, Sherman, or Chancellor would make the team. I thought they were the typical guys with the gimmick of being big and physical and scary, that every team has in training camp that never turn out to even be special teamers.

I didnt think very highly of most of the players on defense right now actually. Never again will I doubt!

I also thought they were a little bit crazy for cutting Robert Gallery and not picking up anyone else at guard.

I thought Pete would stay at USC. I didn't believe any NFL owner would have the smarts to give Pete what he wanted to return to the No Fun League. Kudos to Paul Allen for being willing to think outside the box and see the real potential there.

I thought Deion Branch was going to put up #1 WR numbers with Hass

Saw a Youtube Video on Whitehurst and read an article about how much Schneider loved the way he threw and thought it was a great trade

Thought PC/JS were crazy to trade Josh Wilson

Loved the Mark Lagree pick

Thought the Hawks should have gone after Asante Samuel last year, and openly said it would bite us in the you know what when WTIII went down last year and we had to start Richard Sherman

I thought Lynch was worth a 4th round pick but given what had gone on in Buffalo I figured he had very little chance of providing this team with much.

i honestly though matt flynn was going to win the job before mid season and resurrect the team to playoff contention.
i thought deon butler would step into a receiver role right where engram left off, in the same fashion the colts went from manning to luck with a small gap.
i thought tatupu was going to return to the pro bowl post-injuries.
i still believe we should have held onto leonard weaver at all cost.

I began to wonder if Russell's play at the beginning of the season was due to his height and not really being able to see open receivers.

In addition, I thought Bevel was the worst offensive coordinator ever.

Well, I've been "enlightened" since then.

Go Hawks!

I thought Ricardo Lockette would be our version of Randy Moss

I will admit that after bashing Okung last season and a lot of this that I was wrong! The dude is a force to be reckoned with now that he's healthy. One serving of crow, medium rare please.

I remember being pretty excited about Schmidt, so you're not alone. He was a beast in college. I think he banged his head with his helmet one too many times and could not remember which way the play was going in his stay here.

I once thought Mike Rob wouldn't be able to handle FB duties here, now I wish I saw him in game more.

I thought Wilson should be the 3rd stringer behind Flynn and Jackson.

Lynch wouldn't be as productive this year.

We should've cut Golden Tate and started Lockette.

Mebane was overrated and was on the down slide of his career

We would not sign Clemons to a new contract and Irvin would take over full time after this season.

Washington was a has been and is one of the worst returners in the league

Man, I've never been so happy to fail so miserably at pretending to know football

I have had a bunch of crazy "for sure" predictions. My worst was that Jim Mora would be a great coach for us. As much as I had thought that by game 6 of that season I knew I had been wrong to a great degree.

PC and JS has taught me to be patient with their moves as 90% or more of the time they are right.

I thought Okung would be an above average, but never elite tackle.

I thought it was crazy to draft a safety in round 1. Safety is the least important position on a defense!

I thought Jim Mora was a good coach after the 41-0 win against Jacksonville.

I didn't think PC would make a good NFL coach.

I thought Julius Jones would be a top 15 back.

I wasn't really wrong on anything. I wasn't sure clem was worth the contract he received but outside of that I have been dead on.

I thought Golden should have been cut last year, Flynn should be the starter, and cheerleaders go bra-less.

Another good one was I thought Lendale White would have a career renaissance with us.

I also thought Kelly Jennings had all the tools to turn the corner after his 2nd NFL season.

Lastly, I thought D.J. Hackett was the next Bobby Engram.
