Shout outs to Mike Ditka, he gave love when Greenberg tried to make it about the Bears.

Just before the Ditka segment, they had Wilson as the "Road to the Super Bowl Road Performance of the Week" or something like that. Sponsored of course. Once again they talked about the Bears but only to emphasize how good Wilson was. They repeated everybody's favorite "If he was 6'3" he would have been a top-5 pick" line.

Agreed.

For those that missed it, Greenie started off the segment talking about how Chicago made the plays on offense to win the game, and the Bears D let them down. Ditka immediately referenced RW, callling him "outstanding" and remarking about how Seattle has some weapons on offense and a good RB. He called RW "a real threat" and commented on his ability to make plays with his legs outside the pocket, comparing him to Fran Tarkenton.

No discussion about any particular plays or calls in the game itself, leading me to believe that nobody actually watched the game, but rather worked off the CliffsNotes version.

Discussion moved to rookie QB's making an immediate impact in today's game, then briefly on to SF. Greenie asked Ditka to describe another rookie QB, Andrew Luck. Ditka's response was that Luck is "special". Ditka then mentioned RGIII and called him "very special" and "the kid up in Seattle" as "very, very special" (both the RGIII and Wilson references were unsolicited by Mike & Mike Inc., so they were immediately dismissed). That pretty much summed it up.

Did I miss anything?

Now Greenberg is trying to discount Wilson from "best rookie QB" talk saying he isn't in the conversation and it's between Luck & RGIII. Golic is sticking up for Wilson.

It's got to be killing Greenberg that with one simple draft pick in the second round (Russell Wilson instead of Stephen Hill), how much more prolific the Jets passing game would be this year...and for the next 12 years. One national analyst pointed out to Greenberg right after the draft that the Jets should have picked up Wilson instead of Tebow if they wanted to do wildcat.

But Wilson is NOT a rookie!! He is a 12 year veteran! So I agree...he shouldn't be in the "best rookie QB" talk... :sarcasm_off:

RW is doing something SO special that it can't POSSIBLY be happening and thus gets discounted as a "fluke."
