I'm certainly not giving up and never will. I will ALWAYS hope for one, just freaking ONE Super Bowl win by Seattle before I die. However, by losing yesterday to an inferior opponent this team has moved me to a point they do almost every year.....they've moved me to the point that if I have something more interesting or enjoyable available to do, I will do it. Usually that means if the weather is sunny I will go for a motorcycle ride rather than stay home to watch the Hawks because I will enjoy that more than watching them.

I like watching the Seahawks because its a fun thing to do on Sundays during the usually crappy weather. It will suck without Brandon and Sherman, but Wilson and Lynch are two good reasons to watch no matter our record.

To all the people in this fan who are sure of our impending demise: Don't let the door hit you on the ass on your way out and stop posting here. Thanks.

Yeah I think the defense will continue to regress without the starting CBs and we may actually see the restraints completely taken off Wilson and get to watch him sling it around a fair amount. IMO, that can only further his developement.

Of course Pete could continue to be pathetically stubborn and refuse to open things up any more even if the hawks are down 17 in the middle of the 3rd cuz well, his way is the right way, right?

Why wouldnt we make the playoffs? We are making it, prove me wrong.

Because if we lose Browner and Sherman for four games, it's going to be hard to even win our home games, let alone win one more road game.

Trufant as an outside cover CB for four games? = Game Over.

This is my Seahawk point. That did it. We will not make the playoffs now. Yes I am being a debbie downer. but after 35 years of this. I give up.

ok, bye! You are 3rd in line behind Seesurfers and Cesame.

Never give up. The giants were 9-7 and won the Superbowl. We just need to make the playoffs.

Being a Seahawk fan should entitle you to a prescription. I, for one, would appreciate it.

With respect to this Topic, we always want to be in the playoffs. I can't imagine ever saying I didn't want to make it. Hell, even in 2010 we shocked the world, and we could certainly do it again.

I love football. I loved playing the game when I was much younger; and today I enjoy watching the game being played by others.

The Seahawks are 'my' team and I watch every game they play...and I enjoy the experience one game at a time. I try not to make the mistake of watching the game from the prospective of, "If we win today then our playoff chances are..." I try to enjoy every game for the novelty it is. Each play, each drive, each game, each season...in that order.

Even if my team lost the first 14 games in a row, I would be watching the 15th game with the same love and enthusiasm as I did the first game of the season...and enjoy it just as much.

Quit on my team which has a 6-5 record with 5 games to go? LOL! My Dad (RIP) would roll over in his grave.

Lotta broken ankles around here. Easy to do when you're jumping on and off the damned bandwagon all the time.

Hey, remember the "we're doomed!" ankle-shattering exodus after we lost to the Rams and dropped to 2-2? Remember the "Super Bowl-bound!" crowd jumping back on, ankles in boots when we beat the Patriots to go 4-2? Then all the glass ankles after the Lions loss that dropped us back to .500? And then the overcrowding and lack of bandwagon seats after we beat down the Vikings and Jets?

This crowd is always about two wins away from dynasty talk, and about two losses from #1 draft pick talk. Every damned season. Get back to me when we hop on the plane to Toronto with a winning record, to play the spiraling Bills. Get back to me when we're playing at home against division rivals for playoff seeding.

Weren't we suppose to be hopping on a plane after lots of bye week rest to play a spiraling Dolphins team, that lost to your spiraling Bills team?

From day one I said this was an 8-8 team, or 9-7 at best.............. and so far they're on track for that record. I'm not hoppin on and off of anything, I'm right where I said I was going to be.

We have a good young team, but good young teams don't know how to win on the road, and they don't know how to get out of their own way.

after 25+ years of disapointments with the seahawks, mariners, sonics, cougars, huskies, gonzaga, it's easy to give up, frankly i feel i've earned the right to put my emotions on ice till next season, that's how i deal with being a washington state sports fan. i've learned to numb the pain.... do i think the seahawks make the playoffs, in a strange way i still kinda do, do i think they'll advance, don't think they have what it takes to take on the big boys outside of CLink.

not going to say i'm giving up on them, but my emotions are now back on the shelf, and am now going to be watching purely to see if this team improves in the areas we're weak, looking forward to seeing RW's progression, and will continue to hoot and holler, but will no longer allow myself to get completely outraged at their losses any more.... after 25+ years , just can't do any more...

Well....maybe you will not be predicting road wins anymore. My homerism did it again this week and look what happened.

Back when we were 4-4, I announced my prediction for the outcome of the season. I said:

"They will end 11-5, and the one remaining loss will NOT be the Bears like everyone predicts."

This is still alive, and until its not I'm still all in. BB and Sherm's suspensions are certainly a dark cloud though...

I heart this post.
Though I will admit that I will watch the Bears game with one eyebrow raised suspiciously.

I can understand giving up on the Ms... baseball season is just too long in general to stay interested in a losing team. In football there's only 16 games and we're still above .500. This was a disappointing loss, and playoff hopes are dwindling, but you never know what's going to happen the rest of the way
