I was thinking about this last night. We might be at the start of a new NFL record for consecutive home wins. 30 in a row by the Patriots from 2008-2011 is the current record. Hell of a record, too. We have the best home field advantage in the NFL; if we can keep our team a contender every year with our new-found toughness, it's definitely feasible.

  • If we don't win this game, we don't deserve to go to the playoffs.

That's why we're going to throttle a crappy team at home (and I'm going to get the joy of ribbing my Jets fan friend.) 34-6.

    Edit: 4-5 Record.

  • Seahawks win this one, we are favoured, we are better, not scared of anything on the Jets. Win this go into the bye at 6-4 and this gives us a legitimate shot of going say 9-7 and getting the wild card.

Only because after Sanchize throws two pick 6's, Rex pulls him and Tebow wills his team to two TD's and we didn't gameplan for him.

  • This is the game I'm most confident of the Seahawks getting a win by a comfortable margin. Except my confidence is causing me to be worried because, as Aros pointed out, the Seahawks have p!$$ed games like this away far too often in their history, regardless of the players or coaches involved. I'm going with a Seahawks win, but closer than most expect.

  • This game screams Rams game to me. 9/10 we win a good clean football game, but this seems like a game the jets are going to get us with a return, or fake punt, or crazy 89 yard fg, etc. I still think Hawks win, but to the toon of 24-17

  • I'm gonna be a little more realistic than most of you guys. A Jets team desperate for a win against a possibly over-confident Seahawks team. I'm gonna say they burn us a couple times on O and D, with a final score of:

    'Hawks - 31

    Jets - 17

If we blow anyone out it'll be this Jets team. The only other possible lopsided game I see on our schedule in our favor is when we fly to Toronto to destroy the Bills. NYJ might not have Bart Scott due to turf toe, and they're already reeling hard. Their offense isn't very good, Shonn Green is the epitome of average and they have guys playing WR that would have a hard time starting at WSU. This is a perfect "get right" game for the defense after what Adrian Peterson did to them last Sunday. We win this game going away.

  • Too many factors play into the Hawks' strengths. Home game, the Jets awful run defense, Revis out, awful Jets pass offense, the Hawks on the other hand have a strong run game, strong if not the best pass defense, solid pass rush and even with the run game giving up big days to the Niners and AP, the Jets run game is anchored by Shonn "waste of a fantasy pick" Greene.

Sanchez? I don't think so. Lynch, Turbin and at least one of the WR's have a good day regardless of the Jets pass defense ranking.

Jet fans talk about Lynch not being a speed back which gives them trouble, but ask Detroit and Philly about Lynch's speed and they will tell you different. Their fans hopes are that and that Ryan always designs defenses for Rookie QB's to struggle. Ryan knows perfectly well that Wilson is not playing anything like a rookie and will be planning to play him like he does any other quality QB. It wouldn't matter, RW can handle it.

The only chance the Jets have is the "any given Sunday" chance and the game is played on the field. There is too much that has to go wrong for the Hawks to lose.

37-13 Hawks with compound defensive scores. I don't usually pick games with that kind of margin, but looking at the recent history has the Hawks all over this game. The Hawks are a fairly healthy team, playing in the Clink.. That alone makes them a favorite against nearly anybody.

  • Well this makes things interesting.

Nate Silver uses expertise to predict Seahawks loss against Jets

The day after election day, many were left singing the praises, or lamenting the accuracy of numbers geek and probable witch Nate Silver. Now he's trying his hand at football.
On the New York Times' 538 blog, Silver accurately predicted how each state would sway in the presidential vote. His other predictions were accurate too, save a North Dakota Senate race.

Silver is now out promoting his book, "The Signal and the Noise" and tackling the National Football League.

RotoExperts asked Silver to take a try at predicting all 14 NFL games this week. What math he used to predict the games is unclear (he used polling data for his political predictions.) He is, however, going against Seattle fans, and estimates the Jets will pull out a win at CenturyLink Field on Sunday.

Silver's prediction goes against the instincts of 710 ESPN Seattle's Jim Moore, who said the Seahawks don't have a reason to fear the Jets in the match-up.

A Jets win isn't the only upset predicted by Silver. He also said New Orleans will win over an undefeated Atlanta and Tampa Bay will win over San Diego.
