1.) We can safely conclude that our franchise QB is better than Minnesota's, and it ain't even close. I'm amazed at how quickly RW has improved and developed his game in just 9 weeks. Our "homework" for him this week was him playing better in the third quarter. While he didn't start off so hot he more than made up for it with a methodical 73 yard drive highlighted by a beautiful seam pass to Miller. The guy doesn't cease to amaze. No matter what happens this season don't you just sleep better at night knowing we have this guy at QB?

2.) I'm loving how Rice (and Miller as well) is really starting to assert himself as an impact WR the past several games. I also like the adjustment of making Tate the receiver on the WR screens instead of the blocker. Getting Tate on short high percentage completions and letting him create in open space is maximizing his assets. The WR screens actually were effective today for once.

3.) Our pass defense was stellar today. I thought the pass rush was effective for the most part and our secondary played lights out. If their RB ends up being the leading receiver of the game mission accomplished!

4.) On the other hand, our rush defense continues to be a major chink in the armor. I think it's obvious that a lot of the issues are on the LB's. I noticed a few critical missed tackles by Wagner and Morgan and one obvious missed gap assignment by Wagner that resulted in a huge run for AP. Of course, losing KJ in the first quarter definitely messed things up but still that should be no excuse. I mean we had 8 sometimes 9 guys in the box and we still couldn't stop the guy. There was a post or two this past week on the QB's that we'd be facing the rest of the season. I think someone needs to make a post on who the remaining RB's we will be facing; that it more concerning to me.

5.) PC continues to make stupid challenges IMO. While Wilson talks and makes improvement week by week on his game, PC continues to make the same mistakes as an in-game decision maker. While it ultimately didn't come back to haunt us, losing that TO could have been costly. If he doesn't start getting his head together we're going to lose a game at some point in the future because of a bad challenge. I just hope it doesn't cost us a playoff game.

6.) The score should have been 30-17. The refs made a major blunder not calling the delay of game on Minnesota that would have pushed their 55 yard try to a near impossible 60 yarder.

7.) Kudos to Trufant for forcing a fumble but man the dude looked old on the PI call. It's time to activate Thurmond and let him take over the nickel back position.

8.) Overall, great win, but I have to wonder in the back of my mind if we would have beat them in their house.

Yea the run D was definatly not great but credit Peterson. He made a few Barry Sanders type cuts out there. Specifically when he was running down the sideline on that first drive and cut back thru about 6 of our guys, and a few other times as well. He looked like a cross between Barry Sanders and Walter Payton today. Amazing football player.

Agree with all of this. Good post man. The run "D" has to improve if the team's gonna make a run at a playoff spot but I agree with J above, AP's the shit. And don't forget he's doing this on a knee that was shred city.

Nice post. Pete Carroll needs to let someone else hold those red flags, Tom Cable maybe.

Tate can not block, but he can run. I still don't like his attitude of "me, me" when he made the TD reception.

Trufant drew a tough assignment with Harvin today but the PI was bad. He was easily in position to turn around and intercept that ball.

The 15 yarder on Browner was absolute BS. A DB against a Tackle bumping chests and you want to call it on Brandon?

Turbin is only going to get better. Dude is fast!

I don't hate his challenges that much. They seem to come at a time when a timeout is needed anyway (ie gassed D, momentum in the other team, etc.) I have guessed on a few of them that he is only doing it to get a chance to rest the D. Normal time out is short, challenges have the potential of being longer, especially when the replay booth spends five minutes wondering what in the hell Pete saw.

I made a comment in another thread about point 2). Nice to see them swap roles for Rice and Tate there. Saw Rice make some really nice blocks for him.

I didn't like the last throw on 4th at the end of the game. Why risk a turnover for 7 and then they only need an FG with over a minute left. I would have kicked the points and made them need two TDs to beat us in the same time frame.

Exactly. And Pete's challenges are better if you don't listen to the idiot announcers : "I don't see how Carroll had a very good vantage, from across the field, to challenge that spot"! Uh, OK.

As an aside: Verne Lundquist had the misfortune last night of trying to say the name Haha Dicks. Verne stammered then said, "OK, haha dicks...I knew if I just quit playing with it, it would come out of my mouth". A moment of awkward silence ensued and you know the guys in the truck were rolling on the floorboards.

I was feeling pretty confident about the Buffalo game but if we can't stop the run we're not gonna be able to beat Fred Jackson and CJ Spiller on the road. Gore and Reggie Bush will be difficult assignments as well.

C'mon Gus and Pete! Lets get this thing fixed!

i didn't mind the challenge, he did not pick up that 1st, not with the ball, not with his body, another blown call by the officials in my opinion... that would have been a good stop, but not to be... i like turbin, what a great compliment to lynch. would still like to see bevell mix it up a bit more, but it was better play calling today, seemed like anyway...

Thanks for the list. I'm definitely worried about Buffalo and Miami, both teams which I believe we are better than. It would be a shame if we lost those games and got gashed by their RBs.

Mad Mike Martz used to do that with the Lambs. He would pick the seemingly oddest time to throw the rag, Then it came to me. He'd always do it when the opposing team was building momentum. So it works like an extended time out.

I love that it seems like Wilson is actually looking for Rice now. When Wilson is scrambling, it seems like he is always looking for #18 downfield. He is making a real effort to get Rice involved in the passing game.

That's the way it should be, and I like it.
