  • Seriously is it that hard to kick a football? There's only 32 open positions in the league, so everyone employed should be pretty good at their craft.

Forget sending your kids to law or medical school. Obviously there's a huge demand and money to be made for learning how to kick field goals.

Yes it is that hard to kick a football through narrow uprights. If it wasn't hard it wouldn't be of value.

Players of any sport aren't immune to bad plays and slumps. If a batter got canned everytime he went O For in a baseball game, you'd run out of baseball players pretty soon.

Yes, he should have made those kicks but all kickers miss and all kickers have slumps. Even Hauschka hasn't been Hauschka since 2017. Tucker is about the only guy that's been relatively immune to the yips. Since i know you can't just find a great kicker off the street, I say stick with Myers and try to go for it more on 4th and 1 from the 35.

  • Interesting so far all his misses(4) has been in Century LInk except for 1 but that was for 58yrd FG at Pittsburg.

Rams miss wasn't the best snap but should have been able to make it from 49yrds. Greg the Leg also miss the game winner that day.

Ravens game was just really $h!t weather...53yrds miss but was 3 for 4 that game.

Thinking back now, yesterday was really the only bad game, i mean really bad. He couldn't even get it to the endzone, i wonder if he had a slight injury. I think he deserves at least another chance.

  • Probably not gonna happen to move on from him this season. The Pats and Atlanta both signed kickers who last performed in the AAF.

In the offseason, though, I'd be all over signing a K to the PS. In fact I'd be for doing it now to the 53. The K is the defacto QB for at least half of special teams. They are certainly more important than these "ST specialists" you can't play elsewhere.

One the usual suspects will naturally blame Pete for 7 missed points.

Situational left-handed reliever pays better and the career is longer. Teach your kids to be a lefty pitcher.

  • I was all ready to stick up for the guy. But I've been down that road. He has been brutal, no sugar coating it.
We need him to get his head right, and immediately.

  • We didn't punt Walsh & we didn't cut Seabass mid-season so there's no way we're changing kickers unless there's an injury this season so our only hope is he can put that game behind him & help us win games.

It was his only stinker so far, & it didn't even cost us the game, so I'll give him a pass.

  • I believe there was 21 missed kicks league wide last weekend. It's crazy how bad FG kicking is in the NFL this year.

  • Glad to be wrong for a week. Hopefully that game got his head back straight and we can actually depend on him the rest of the year. His seat should still be a little warm, but he earned some time today.

  • Totally. His stroke was off last week. I thought he was ill (in a way affecting balance) or injured, some nagging thing affecting his plant. Our long snapper was the same, week to week, right? It wasn't like Joey Hunt was long snapping last week or any variable like that? Dickson was the holder, same as usual, both weeks.

I wouldn't even be surprised if Dickson and he reviewed some mechanics this week and Dickson helped fix him. Those kickers gotta stick together in this cold, cruel fickle world of the life of an NFL kicker. Anyone know offhand if Dickson is our emergency FG kicker if Myers is suddenly unavailable in a game? Myers actually "sort of" made a tackle on a kickoff return a couple weeks ago, and actually looked solid and athletic in doing so. He missed the dude, but in doing so, the KR had to go so wide around him, that he went out of bounds.
