John Schneider & Pete Carroll relationship...the envy of NFL

The Essential Online Seattle Football Fan Forum Community. There simply is NO substitute. LANGUAGE RATING: PG-13

  • “We just declared that we were going to make this a famous relationship. I was hoping John would be recognized as the best general manager that anybody could remember in the time he’s here. To do that, we had to be together so we could function at a really high level.”

They’ve been pretty damned successful at making it a famous relationship. In some ways it’s hurt them in terms of rewards recognition because people don’t know exactly who’s been responsible for what. And I suspect neither guy cares too much about that.

I think you're correct, except for one caveat, I think each wants to see the other be recognized.

  • It's a great, healthy relationship that we as fans have benefited from enormously.

One only has to look at the numerous dumpster fires around the league to appreciate what we have. The stability and longevity of success is admirable and enjoyable.

  • Our drafting history in the Carroll-Schneider era emphasized the confidence of these two, they picked against the media expectations and therefore often ridiculed, but again, these two often had the last laugh. It couldn't happen if these two didn't have each other's back.

We are indeed lucky to have a GM and a HC that worked well together,
