Yeah, something just seems off with Russ this year. Thanks for stats that highlight the problem.

Indeed. Why oh why we weren't doing more play action before is one of the great mysteries of the Bevel years.

Anyways, Russ has the game for play action and with a much improved O-Line/running game it's placing a whole lot less on his shoulders and the entire offense is benefiting plus he's not getting hit as much.

    Win-win-win...

Uh, which Bevell years? If it's when Lynch was around, that was pretty much the passing game.

Uh, which Bevell years? If it's when Max Unger, Sweezy, Carp and Okung were throwing blocks , that was pretty much the passing game.

The dark Bevell years of course. When Russ was getting killed.

The Beast years were the best years with or without Bevell. We had Beast, a strong O-line to give Beast the bit of room to go and protect a young still-learning QB, and then a defense that smashed opponents into oblivion.

    The good old days...

  • Too short. Can't see over the line.
    Too chubby now. Can't run.
    Too Carlton. Not black enough.
Too positive. No dog in him.
    Too rich. Can't afford him.
Too inconsistent...Yet the stats say otherwise.

He just keeps playing like it's his last game.
    That's our future HOF qb.
