Last night Joey Ivie got a roughing the passer penalty.

4th Quarter
(11:18) (Shotgun) 5-P.Walker pass deep left to 6-K.Williams to SEA 20 for 33 yards (43D-E.Beal) [67-J.Ivie]. PENALTY on SEA-67-J.Ivie, Roughing the Passer, 10 yards, enforced at SEA 20.

They didn't really explain why, was it late? The new rule about landing on the passer? To me it looked like a typical, bang bang type deal. They really didn't go into detail, except for Brock's usual "got to protect the quarterback" routine.

It was barely late. There's a possibility he could've pulled up. I think in the recent past it would've been fine - recall 2016 when we hosted the Falcons and were kicking the shit out of Matt Ryan in the first half, mostly after he threw the ball. They're starting to be stricter.

It was a late hit. Pretty sure Ivie was still about 1.5 steps away when the ball was released.

The annoying one was the non call on our QB when he got ragdolled to the floor. The next play or so after the same player took out Jones.

Yea, since when are suplexes allowed on the quarterbacks? They make such an emphasis on protecting these guys, then let that one go. C'mon refs, consistency please.

Mr. Magoo is a survivor, 340 pound man throwing you backward over his shoulder into the turf is nothing compared to all the auto accidents he has been in.

You have to had watched the cartoon to get it.

He was a rookie, if that had been Luck, Brady, Rodgers, Rivers, Brees or maybe even Wilson it would have been a flagrant foul of unsportsmanlike conduct and possible ejection.

The pit
The officiating was already in regular season form. In other words there were quite a few bad/missed calls especially in the 2nd half. The rule book needs to be streamlined and the mentality of officials should be no flag unless you actually see it, not becuase “you think you MAY have seen something”. This isn’t a Seahawks issue, it’s a league problem!

Well didn't they hirer 24 new officials this year, there is going to be a lot of huddles without people in pads.
