With Suh/Donald likely trying to destroy Wilson this year there is a good chance we will need a back up qb to play at some point. Austin Davis is still available or we go after someone like Krapper?

I think we'll go back to the late round or undrafted well to find another QB to develop, and we'll probably sign a veteran backup before camp like we did last year.

Maybe Manziel gets a chance??

After the last 2-3 years of drama? No way in hell we sign a backup QB that's going to bring even an ounce of drama to the team, that includes Manziel or Kaepernick.

Go get a late round QB that you think you can develop, and then go sign a cheap Davis type backup for 1M or less.

The time is meow to start a Pats type plan. Ironically, I hear the Pats are interested in this one.

Davis will be back, you need to look at the developmental crop.

I'm happy if it is Davis I think the guy is better than he gets credit for.

:ditto: I could live with him. Thankfully, Russ has been super durable, but that's tough to count on year after year. The law of averages kicks in, and we can't count on Russ beating Favre's record. I'm pretty sure we'll have at least 3 QB in camp and maybe 4. Kind of a shame if we have to burn a pick on a backup QB.

Why would we sign a QB who took our owner to court? CK7 is no longer an option. Also, you want him to face Sherm?
The Cards have new QBs ... maybe we can get one of their former QB. I know they all stink ... but at least, they have some experience. Or we can even get Scott Tolzien ... or Derek Anderson, Geno Smith, the GB backup who will soon be released?
There is plenty of options available ... The league is full of backups ... you hope never see the field. EVER ...

Well Google says 14.9% over 16 games. But our QB is going to be way under that "average" anyway.

Kyle L looked GREAT in the Senior Bowl.

I would have no problem with at least that pickup.

Austin Davis makes me pine for Rick Mirer. He is terrible.

Worse than terrible, he uses a roster spot and so we have to cut someone that isn't terrible to keep him.

I am all for getting Kaepernick, let him backup Russ. They have a lot in common, just Wilson's more accurate, and more poise under pressure.

Yeah that senior bowl is where I found out about him. They say he doesn't have an NFL arm and I think that's arguable, but basically every other trait is there.
