  • I like this move. We got him through a trade in 2017 for a 2018 7th round pick. He turns 25 on the 27th.

  • :2thumbs: As long as he is a Hawk I’m great with it!

    Now let’s extend Earl.

Thanks for keeping up on this dude. Love the motivation.

Definitely want him in the slot and SP's. Has Seahawks coverage/tackle skills. He played great for us last year.

Honestly can see at least one of these guys, McDougald, Colemen, and if we keep him, Max, will have a step out season. They have to play well and are also playing underneath the LOB standard. I will always miss the LOB that plays a 200 mph but if this group can play at 188, awesome.

  • Knew it would happen but always nice to hear.

Surprised they didn't tender Dion Jordan at the same time, guess he will get done today or maybe even give him an extension instead.

  • PFF on the value of slot defenders:

In a league where the vast majority of the highest-graded cornerbacks (on a per-year basis) are predominantly outside cornerbacks, a good open question exists as to whether teams are approaching the slot with appropriate financial tenacity. During the PFF era, throwing to slot receivers has been worth approximately 0.243 expected points added (EPA), while throwing to outside receivers has yielded only 0.228 EPA. When looking at the distribution of these throws, the difference becomes even larger, with the median EPA throwing to guys out of the slot being 0.200, as opposed to 0.130 for outside guys. Thus, throwing to inside receivers is not only a better play, it’s a safer play for offenses (and hence defending such a play well comes at a premium for a defense). ... sive-backs

  • So in English your saying crossing routes that are shorter throws gain better yards with Yards After Catch and less turnovers due to less air time and the receiver typically being able to beat a defender to a spot versus trying to physically mismatch on the outside.

Bill Walsh, Joe Montana, John Taylor and Jerry Rice must be amazed at this.
