  • Oh dear, that's not good.

He was as good as good in the off season, anyway.

I always cringed a little when I saw 20 on the field other than ST's.

I dunno. Getting in a car while intoxicated is just about the dumbest thing you can do. No regard for your life or anyone else's. Flat out selfish. And it wouldn't matter to me who did it, same reaction.

    Convicted, yes. Arrested, NO.

The arrest is largely at officer discretion. Unless the breath test is conclusive, it takes months in King County to get other test results confirmed.

  • Lane must have acted in a certain way or did something the officer thought was going to lead to him being a danger to himself or the public, also .03 for one person and .08 for another are numbers, everyone acts a bit different depending on their tolerance. Those numbers are for general purposes. I am sure there is more to this story. Besides that he could blow a .003 and still by law be driving under the influence since it registers period, again officers discretion. DWI is driving while intoxicated a little different.

Foolish? No, not necessarily. The names could very well be spot on. Anyone out after 2:00 AM Sunday morning that is not work related is not out Christmas shopping. Plus he obviously made an improper maneuver or broke the law to get pulled over to begin with.
I don't care for Lane's play or attitude, so I say he's likely a guilty idiot, get a rope. • I don't know the law in WA but in NY there are several subsections of the DWI law. One subsection is what is known as "common law" DWI. It doesn't matter what your BAC% is. IF you appear to be intoxicated, fail the field sobriety tests etc etc etc...then you can be charged. Also, if you are obviously screwed up, yet your BAC% comes back low, and the officer has some reasonable suspicion to believe that drugs may be involved, then you can be re-arrested and charged with DWAI Drugs (Drving While Ability Impaired-Drugs). Every situation is different, and a low BAC% doesn't mean that you weren't too screwed up to drive.

Oh, he'll probably be released. But that has more to do with his salary, depth at cornerback, and his inconsistent performance on the field.

Yep. Just like being arrested for something doesn't mean that you are guilty.

I'm not saying he's not guilty. I don't know if he's guilty or not. I'm just saying that people are arrested all the time who are not guilty of whatever it is they were arrested for.

Wouldn’t shock me if he refused a breath test, didn’t do well on a sobriety test or his car smelled like weed if his .03 BAC is accurate. Around 6 weeks ago I went out to dinner with a friend. He had 3 beers over 2 hours at dinner. He ran a yellow/red light while dropping me back off. Cop asked if he would take a field sobriety test, buddy said sure. He screwed up the alphabet funny enough. Cop took a breath test and he was .035 and was arrested. Since I hadn’t been drinking at all the officers asked if I would drive his car to the station as they were going to release him within minutes. They charged him with DWI but the courts dropped the charges altogether a few weeks later. Sometimes it’s not as bad as it seems. Probably won’t help his off-season regardless.
