Wow, I never knew he had an out clause (take off to GB if the opportunity ever arose to replace Thompson as GM) in his last contract. Thankfully Thompson is still GM and JS' new contract has no such out clause.

5 more years of exemplary GM'ness ahead!

You were about the only one. It's nice to see Paul stood his ground this time around and likely guaranteed Pete resigning in the bargain.

Welcome to .net!

:sarcasm_off:

P.S. I loved how Schneider coyly mentioned that old allowance in the previous contract. Dude is just awesome!

He must be happy in Seattle to eliminate that clause from the old contract.

This will pull some long faces in Green Bay because their boards last year
were pretty confident Schneider would be headed home.

Good news, thanks.

My guess is Schneider has seen the writing on the wall and it wasn't worth the hassle of keeping the clause in his contract.

Elliot Wolf, son of Ron Wolf, has been being groomed for the head-honcho position in GB for the past decade. He's performed very well and seen a steady progression in responsibility within the organization, most recently being named Director of Football Operations this past March. His next logical step up is to take Thompson's position, a position likely to be vacated within the next 3-5 years, which fits the timeline for Wolf.

Schneider would have been welcomed back to GB with open arms, that much is true, but nobody within the fan base is broken hearted over this Schneider news, not with Wolf ready to step in and take the reigns.

There was a GB fan that came on here and mentioned that as well.I'm glad he won't have that in his troll bag.
