More college spread/pistol formations in '16?

The Essential Online Seattle Football Fan Forum Community. There simply is NO substitute. LANGUAGE RATING: PG-13
  • If you didn't know better you could argue that this Seahawks draft seems like one Urban Meyer or Chip Kelly would craft. All the offensive players selected would excel in pistol and spread running formations.

    - TE that's comfortable engaging at the 2nd level from motion.

    - 2 horizontal RB'S

    - 1 power back

    - 2 long, athletic guards

    - 1 center accustomed to zone/pistol offenses

This could be why the selections threw so many off. Could be the Hawks are going further in on bringing Saturday offenses to Sunday afternoons.

    XOXO

  • Plausible, in a MythBuster kind of way.

  • I always wondered why they abandoned the Pistol formation. I thought it was pretty effective, especially on read option.

  • Pete and John changed course, and the TEF-SparQ crowd didn't predict it. Thus some of the panning.

I love this seeming move to a highly adaptable O. Hopefully we can do it in a less than clunky way. Bevell.
