About what time for the Hawks tonight?

  • I'm not as familiar with the pace of the draft now that it has moved to Thursday nights. Anybody have a thought on what time the Seahawks will likely be on the clock?

  • Isn't it 15 minutes in the first round?

  • Is it still? Seemed like they took some steps to shorten the rounds since they moved to Thursday night. First round used to take 9 hours. They try that when not starting until 8 pm and the first round wouldn't end until 5 in the morning.

I'm guessing they target about 3 hours for the first round now.

It's 10 mins. per team in round one guys.

That would put us what around 4 hours in? Guessing it doesn't take that long though as TV is scheduled for 3 1/2 for all of round one.

  • Should have put this question in the draft forum for those in the know. Or maybe we could become unlazy and google it.

  • 10 minutes in round 1. 7 minutes in Round 2, and 5 minutes in Rounds 3-7...I think. Got this from packer board, so yanno... 8)

  • This explains it. So if all teams take 10 minutes and the Hawks pick @26 that's 260 minutes from the first pick or about 4 hours later. Hopefully a bunch of teams pick fast. That's why the first round is always a snoozefest for a Hawk fan.

  • Do you mean when will they announce they have traded down to the 2nd round?

Even at 10 minutes a pick, the first round would last over 5 hours. That isn't happening. There are timeframe based on what the rules are and then there are timeframes based on experience.

As a Western person (mountain time zone) I'm okay with it. If I still lived out east, it would suck.

8-11 is prime time, so makes sense.

Since this is such a deep draft, I have no doubt we're trading out of the first round to get more middle round picks. It's a bummer cause the first round draft picks are exciting, but I trust in Pete and John.

  • Considering that the NCAA bracket leaked, the NFL schedule leaked and everything leaks I fully expect that the first round draft picks are leaked 15 minutes prior to the draft tonight..........
