Tony Corrente.

He officiated the Lions MNF game earlier in the year.

So if KJ Wright feels compelled to bat balls out of the end zone we're in the clear baby!

Im actually more nervous that they will be trying to amend their mistake and closely watching the Hawks this time.

How often does his crew call defensive PI, defensive holding, and illegal contact relative to other crews?

Me too. Don't expect the Hawks to get any borderline calls in their favor.

Playoffs are the best referees, not the best crews. So he will probably have all different people on his crew

Let's see how often the referees allow offensive pass interference as WRs are seemingly treated differently against Seattle's pass D. Watching the penalty differential play out in the playoffs will be interesting. If the team doesn't have their usual penalty differential their post season success will be enhanced.

From what I heard on the Radio, the regular season Head Referee's team is not intact for the Playoff games. The Head Referee is given refs from other teams who have "earned the right" to work at a Playoff game. That is what I heard.....is this true?

Yes, the crews now are "all-star" crews

Carolina Boards are freaking out - feel like this ref is pro Seattle and they are going to get screwed (much the same way this board usually feels - and which the #'s support).

It would be nice for us to get some PI penalties going our way.

Corrente is fair but does call games tighter than most. I'm sure both sides will get some ticky tack calls.

Also worth nothing if we do eventually advance to Superb Owl 50, that the refs in the divisional round are typically your "finalists" to officiate the big one.

So going off of past history.. your likely Superb Owl ref will be one of the following:

Craig Wrolstad
Clete Blakeman
Tony Corrente
Terry McAulay (officiated SB48)

Good luck with that. It took until week 10 to get our first DPI penalty, and it had to be a blatant mauling to even draw it.

So is this a regular crew or all star crew?

One of the all star crews. If you notice, I put the normal crews they worked with on that listing.

Theoretically this helps us. We have the better WR corps over all, and our guys are quicker, faster and get separation more easily than their WR's do. Meaning the Panthers banged up, replacement secondary is going to hold or interfere with our WRs to cover all of them well.

Then again, our WRs don't seem to get any sort of respect for being good at all. We garner the least defensive holding and DPI penalties in the league.
