Wilson has been on a hot streak but you can still hear the announcers of the game saying he's been playing against inferior teams. I know alot of folks will probably have the same thought. Just for some discussion I went and checked the DVOA rankings of the opposing team's defense that the Elite QBs have gone against to get their hot streak, it was interesting to see. I put 4 games each just to see how everyone stacked with Wilson, I chose their best 4th game that is either before or after their hotstreak. I use DVOA rankings from football outsiders.

Team's Defense Name - Passing Rank - Rushing Rank - QB Rating against Defense - TDs - INT

Peyton Manning 2004 (7th Year)
JAX 12th passing 11th rushing 124.7 3TD *LOST
KC 28th passing 27th rushing 122.5 5TD 1INT *LOST
MIN 31th passing 32nd rushing 144.8 4TD
HOU 21st passing 14th rushing 115.7 5TD 2INT
(Did it twice in one season)
CHI 10th passing 12th rushing 108.8 4TD 1INT
DET 23rd passing 13 rushing 141.4 6TD
TEN 24th passing 26th rushing 122.3 3TD 2INT
HOU 21st passing 14th rushing 124.5 2TD

Peyton Manning 2013 (16th Year)
NYG 8th passing 4th rushing 105.5 2TD
OAK 29th passing 18th rushing 135.8 3TD
PHIL 25th passing 11th rushing 146.0 4TD
DAL 27th passing 28th rushing 129.6 4TD 1INT

Drew Brees 2011 (11th Year, 10th Year of Starting)
NYG 19th passing 20th rushing 129.6 4TD
DET 4th passing 18th rushing 129.6 3TD
TEN 21th passing 10th rushing 110.0 2TD
MIN 32th passing 9th rushing 149.2 5TD

Tom Brady 2007 (7th Year, 6th Year of Starting)
NYJ 18th passing 30th rushing 146.6 3TD
SD 3rd passing 23rd rushing 123.0 3TD 1INT
BUF 17th passing 15th rushing 150.9 4TD
CIN 30th passing 17th rushing 115.0 3TD 1INT
(Did it twice in one season)
CLE 17th passing 26th rushing 105.7 3TD
DAL 20th passing 8th rushing 129.6 5TD
MIA 13th passing 11th rushing 158.3 6TD
WAS 16th passing 14th rushing 125.5 3TD

Phillip Rivers 2014 (8th Year)
SEA 3rd passing 2nd rushing 124.2 3TD
BUF 1st passing 12th rushing 131.4 2TD
JAX 17th passing 20th rushing 130 3TD
NYJ 24th passing 11th rushing 125.3 3TD 1INT
OAK 28th passing 14th rushing 123.8 3TD

All those guys above had more years of experience before they were able to accomplish those records. They were also in a high passing league. Phillip Rivers did a great job on his early streak in 2014 but the team started to fall part at the end of the season like usual.

Aaron Rodgers is the benchmark for this new generation so it was great to see that Wilson in his 4th year of playing stacked pretty well to Rodger's actual 4th year of playing, the thing that stands out to me is that Wilson matches better with Tom Brady's hot streak with the rankings of the team he has faced, but anyways here's the comparison below for Rodgers and Wilson.

Aaron Rodgers 2011 (7th Year, but 4th Year of Starting)
STL 14th passing 27th rushing 119.3 3TD 1INT
MIN 32nd passing 6th rushing 146.2 3TD
SD 30th passing 22nd rushing 132.1 4TD
MIN 32nd passing 6th rushing 146.2 4TD

Russell Wilson 2015 (4th Year)
SFO 28th passing 30th rushing 138.5 3TD
PIT 13th passing 7th rushing 147.7 5TD
MIN 17th passing 22nd rushing 146.0 3TD
BAL 30th passing 9th rushing 139.6 5TD

Also wanted to mention in 2013 during our 3 games of domination, Wilson had a streak going as well. That was two years ago, he's come a long way into shaping into becoming more than just a game manager.

Russell Wilson 2013 (3rd Year)
TB 11th passing 8th rushing 91.3 2TD 2INT
ATL 32nd passing 26th rushing 134.6 2TD
MIN 30th passing 16th rushing 151.4 2TD
NO 6th passing 20th rushing 139.6 3TD

In a lofty place tanglin' with Satan over history.

But but butttt, he's too Short, isn't black enough, is dating a pop star...and they STILL haven't found evidence of advanced life forms on Mars. Plus, that's not really Russell Wilson's bird. I heard from the cousin of the World BBQ Master's fine ass, bottom heavy nieces BFF, that the bird in the commercial, Macklemore's thuggish ruggish ass stole it from some poor little 5 year old paraplegic girl that lives 2 houses down from Jamie Moyer. So, this can't be right, he's still just a glorified Game Manager.

On every ESPN show all I heard was, 'I love Russell Wilson but he's not there yet',,,, all day. Yet everyone was ready to crown Luck. Not sure what else the dude has to do. He is the winningest QB in their first four years ever. I don't care how good our D is, that means something.

I saw the opposite from the media today. Nfl.com and espn did segments clowning pettine for not calling Wilson elite. But overall I do agree, the media has been slow to crown Wilson. Used to bother me but doesn't anymore. It will come

Silly newer Seahawk fans.... RW will never get the same media adoration as the larger media market teams and or the NFL "heritage" teams.

RW is getting lots of love from the media, just backhanded love. Some of this has to do with how great the team is around him, Lynch and the great run game and the lack of respect the mediots sprinkle on the Hawks receiving core. If your pissed about how the media portrays RW, how about being pissed about they way they look down their nose at Baldwin, Kearse, Lockette and a couple of guys no longer on the team. Lockett is getting some love, but should get more, same as Rawls but his injury will relegate him to the back of the line and you wont here his name mentioned again this year nationally.

The Hawks really have great players at most positions and when the offense isn't curb stomping good teams it's easey for the media to back hand compliment RW. He also needs to be THE reason the hawks win some games and he has done that recently and looks primed to do just that in the coming weeks. No excuses, no running game, RW proves he belongs in the upper echelon of QB's. It will happen, just be patient. Just don't expect the mediots to put both feet in the bandwagon, were Seattle, they never will.
