WTH does pointing at the wrist thing mean?

Kearse does it a lot. Even Kevin Smith did it. Brock and Salk talked about it and they don't know either which made me wonder if it's something obscure

I did a very very brief lookup on google "pointing at watch" and "pointing at wrist" .. ha ha nothing.

So any ideas?

And I think there's another sign they do where it looks like they're stirring porridge or scooping up porridge and eating it. Have no clue. Is it the same thing? Like winding the watch?

It's a reference to Hamlet. The full line they are referring to, from Ophelia to Polonius:

(Hamlet 2:1 87-91)
He took me by the wrist and held me hard.
Then goes he to the length of all his arm,
And, with his other hand thus o'er his brow,
He falls to such perusal of my face
As he would draw it. Long stayed he so.

Our team is nuts about Shakespeare.

That one I think is 'Staying Hungry' or 'Time to Eat'; either way it's meant to say 'we're not letting up and we're going to do this all day long'.

It means they are "eating" ...

Slang heard in rap/hip-hop music to indicate success in one's life, e.g. the figurative opposite of starving.

Kind of dual meaning.. means to keep feeding them the ball and that they are "eating" up a defense. Basketball players do it a lot as well.

Thought it went with the other one where they "fix their tie and pick up their briefcase" or BeastModes Handshakes. Its all about "Time for work" "or its just business" type of thing

Staying on schedule

It must be this. I've noticed the new talking point being used this year by receivers during interviews is all about "staying on schedule."

I prefer the Hamlet reason though.

They consider getting a first down to be "staying on time".

I can't believe I'm the only one who pays attention. I really need to get a life.

They are point to where their watch used to be. It's not there anymore because it is Russell Wilson's watch.

Fixing the tie and picking up the briefcase definitely is a "time for work" thing, and I'm pretty sure that was Ricardo's? I thought I heard mention on a broadcast and an interview with Tyler that the guys will do it now as a tribute to him

Timing route?
Hurry up Offense?
Time to get the rhythm in synch?
Keep an eye on the play clock?

Isn't it obvious? They're pointing to a wart and the pointing-at-wrist gesture carries the predetermined meaning of "I wonder if Preparation-H would make that go away?" I mean come on you guys.

Ya got at least one laugh with that one!

So it's their acknowledgment of Russell's leadership. "Look, I have no watch because it's Russell Wilson's watch now. I gave him my watch too!"
