Hello everyone, just wanted to get a quick opinion from you all if I may? My family and I are going up to the game this weekend....I live in Portland now but we are from Donora, PA (just south of Pittsburgh) so of course I am a life long fan of the Steelers. Growing up in the early 70's was a pretty amazing time in Pittsburgh as you can imagine, I am sure Seattle has been similar the past couple years. Anyhow, my Steelers are finally playing a game up here so we are headed up. My wife and 4 year old daughter will be going with me and I wanted to ask you all if you believe it will be safe for us (aside from the regular messing around that is expected of course.) If it were just myself I would not even be asking, but with those two with me I am starting to get a little stressed. I probably should not worry, I have lived here in the PNW now for over 20 years and have had nothing but positive experiences. This game though, well I know there is a little extra hatred after the Super Bowl so I thought I would check. We live in crazy times, fans getting shot and stabbed at football games, pure craziness......I probably didn't even have to write this, I know we are all better than that up here. Anyhow, good luck to you all and I cant wait for the game............may the best team win!!!

You won't have any problems. In all actuality, Hawks fans are usually very cordial to opposing fans. You will get the typical Banter. But shouldn't be anything outlandish or dangerous. Enjoy it there it's a fun environment
If someone gets out of hand, it's. On them, not Hawks fans as a whole

This.

Also, as long as you are respectful you'll rarely find problems when at most opposing teams stadiums.

Hawk fans at the stadium are reminded each half on the big screen that if they even think about saying an angry word at an opposing fan.....they will be escorted out on their ass! Seattle is a total PC city.

PS. However, not all fans are from Seattle.

This isn't San Francisco or Oakland where the lunatic fringe seem to have zero respect for life or limb.

Frankly you could expect some raspberries wearing Stealer (intentional sp.) colours but beyond that you should be fine. i'm sure however if you wanted to start something there are enough drunks, idiots, and asshats to accommodate you.

Never noticed any issues in the section my seats are in, but do expect some banter from people as you walk to your seats. No reason to stress. Also there is a number to text for any "knuckle heads". Great stadium!

Go Hawks!

Seahawks fans are proud of being the loudest fans in the NFL and the most respectful to rival fans. That said, if some drunk idiot crosses a line, simply text your problem and seat number to HAWK12 (429512), and security will take care of it ASAP.

Thanks! And not at all man, like I said I am bringing my 4 year old daughter so I will not be starting anything. We will all be wearing our colors, maybe a terrible towel or two but we will not be starting any fights. I appreciate the reply!

HAHA....it is Cuttlefish of Cthulhu to be exact....my phone must have done that. I saw them live maybe, 5 or 6 times live. I still have my original Scumdogs of the Universe record I bought way back when it was released. I have an old VHS of a movie they made where the cuttlefish detaches himself from Oderus and goes out on a spree, cant remember what it is called. I need to find that and watch it, been years since I've seen it.

Last year, a gal in the next section texted that the guy behind her was "obnoxiously loud". Security sent three bruisers to "resolve the issue" with this 5' 7" Goliath. Like the rest of the posters have assured you....you have nothing to fear.

However, the extreme loudness can be intimidating to a four year old. She wouldn't be the first one I've seen in tears.

Yeah, some ear-plugs for the young one would be a good idea. To be honest, I would expect the ratio of Steelers to Seahawks fan to be on the high side. And with the tough season so far, there probably will be many motivated to sell their tickets to get profit.

And as long as it has been since XL, I am sure the reaction will not be anywhere as volatile as it would have been in 2007 if the game was here.

You are going to have a lot of Steeler company at the game.I was surprised how many Steelers were there, it was impressive.

The Steeler fans travel better than any team in the league. I have seen games where the visiting Steeler fans were louder than the home teams fans. People like o use that to say they are all bandwagon fans with no ties to Pittsburgh but reality is much different. In the late 60's and early 70's all of the steel and zinc mills and smelters shut down and people had to leave the state for work. And I am talking about 3/4's o a town's population moving away. The town we are from had a population of 40-50 thousand before the mills shut down and now has maybe 8,000 people living there. Take that and times it by who knows how many towns, 30 or 40? There are people originally from Western PA spread out all over the country now, and they are all extremely loyal. I am sure there are a lot of 70's kids that loved them just because of the SB wins as well but every team has fans from other states

Man I would not take a child to an NFL game, doesn't matter the stadium. C Link is really freaking loud and like any other NFL stadium there will be profanity shouted and people that get drunk and out of hand. I've been to several Hawk games and only seen fights with Stealers and Bears fans, didn't see what started them but did see them taking place. The last time the Stealers were here I sat near a lone Stealer fan and for some reason this ass hat thought he could talk shit to everyone around him. Not sure if he got in a fight on the way out but he was the focus of every fan around him, especially when the Stealers walked out as losers.

If you go to Customer service (?) they will give you and you daughter a wrist band so if you get separated they can locate you easier. I did that with me and my 5 year old son when I was there for his first game. It was only me and him and we flew in so there was a bit more paranoia on my part but I was wearing Hawk colors (of course) so no fear from that. My experience was what other have stated. Friendly ribbing but harmless all the same. Oh by the way bring her ear protection just to be on the safe side. Better to have it and not need it than the opposite.

BTW we have the more kid friendly QB so it would be better to raise her a Hawks fan:)

I hope the Hawk fans make it miserable for the Stealers. No offense to you but I'm still pissed about the sham 2005 SB and the total obnoxiousness of the Stealer fans at the time. Total douches on line, before the game and worse after it. Be sure to have your hat in hand as most long time Hawk fans remember that game and the lame ass Stealers fans that rubbed the obvious to any else except Stealer fans total bias in penalties called. That game was handed to the Stealers on a platter via the officiating. Don't expect Hawk fans to have forgotten this fact.

Be respectful of your surroundings and your family will be good, mouth off and things wont end well, especially if the Hawks lose.

Enjoy your stay in Seattle, just be aware of the history between these two teams.

More kid friendly? Ben has two children of his own now.....and let's not get started on what you are eluding to. It was proven without doubt that while he did put himself into bad positions when h was younger by going to clubs and all that, he did not rape anyone. In fact the girls own friends said she bragged about trying to get his money. Did you know there are apps for your phone where you can pay a fee and it will alert you when a "baller" is out at a local club so women can go try to gold dig? If Ben was guilty of anything it was being stupid and getting drunk at clubs where he was vulnerable to that sort of thing. He is not a rapist, he was very young when he got a big contract and did what most of us would do, he partied too much. He earned his lesson, does a ton of charity and has a beautiful family now. On top of that, he is playing the best football of his life! Led the league in passing yards last season and probably would again this season if not for the injuries
