The D Used To . . .

The defense used to cover up a other problems on the team - deficient OL, questionable play calling - but now the D cannot be counted on when needed. The result is a good team becoming a shaky team that can't finish.

What is the cause? Everyone getting paid? Richard calling a bad game? Kam's holdout?

I don't think the season is toast, too much mediocrity in the NFC. However, I think the shine from the past couple years has finally worn off for me. Time to lower expectations to save the massive disappointment that comes after another epic meltdown. :34853_doh: :34853_doh: :34853_doh:

3 years ago we had Brandon Browner (a great CB)

up till last year we had Byron Maxwell (an alright CB that had a bunch of clutch plays for us)

now we have Cary Williams (a borderline trash CB that semi-consistently gives up big plays)

Yet it was Richard Sherman who blew the coverage and let Olson run free for the winning TD. Olson was Sherman's responsibility and he blew it. Sherman's mistake cost the Seahawks the game.

I think Kam's holdout has screwed the mentality of the defense. There is a disconnect between Earl Kam and Sherm. Its not so "brotherly" anymore.

Or we could just try having our QB score more than 1 lousy TD per game?

If we covert even one of those drives we kept peeing away in the 4th, we are not having this conversation.

It is time to admit the defense is going to be average and for the first time, the offense needs to pull its weight.

Sherman and Thomas looked confused

Earl Thomas did have a good game, excluding that play. He had an INT and was all over the place on D. Sherm was invisible most of the game and didn't show up when it counted.

Good point.
