Graham finished Saturday's mock game with two catches, including an exciting grab of a Russell Wilson pass over the middle of the field where Graham used his 6-foot-7, 265-pound frame to go up and get the ball over a smaller defender.

"The chemistry has been more than I could ever imagine," Graham said of his relationship with Wilson. "For example, today in the scrimmage we had one we didn't connect on. So then after practice we did it about four or five times. That's how we're going to do it every day, each and every day. I told him anything we're iffy about we're going to get it after practice because the season is right here and when those big moments come I want that connection to be right."

Here are our impressions of today’s Seahawks’ scrimmage.

First, from Jayson Jenks:

1, Bruce Irvin and the first-team defensive line looked dominant. Granted, it was against the Seahawks’ second-team offensive line so keep that in perspective, but Irvin and his fellow rushers, Cliff Avril and Michael Bennett, were causing chaos during Saturday’s scrimmage. Irvin has always had the physical tools to be a pass-rusher, and he had 6.5 sacks last season in a limited role as a pass-rusher. But coach Pete Carroll said Irvin “is the best he’s been, the strongest he’s been, the heaviest he’s been and the most fit.” Irvin sped around Seattle’s backup tackles on Saturday and consistently put pressure on the quarterback; there’s no tackling in practice, especially quarterbacks, so it’s hard to know how many sacks Irvin and the defensive line actually had. But it was clear that they were creating consistent pressure off the edge.

Exciting to hear that kind of talk from Graham, sounds like a guy who won't let hard work stand in the way of a ring for him. That tends to work out pretty well for a player with Graham's physical and talent advantages. Can't imagine Percy Harvin showing that kind of dedication.

Jimmy Graham, an advantage even Bevell can't screw up.

It's also exciting to hear about that Irvin-Bennett-Avril nickel pass rush. Sounds like Hill is currently taking reps as the 4th rusher, but imagine Clark in that mix.

Unstoppable. :3:

Irvin is going to have a monster year. No way we can keep him, but it will be fun to watch this season.

So if Frank Clark shows similar skills (even 70% would be phenomenal for a rookie De/DT) to Bennett and you can get better or equal compensation from a Bennett trade over the compensatory Irvin pick is there really " no way we can keep him"?

Any mention how Rawls did?

It's going to be an interesting battle with Rawls and Cmike.

For what its worth: another UDFA Rod Smith outplayed him this scrimmage.

Way too much read into a tiny handful of plays here. Rawls had one drop in the middle of the field, and Smith looked ok on a couple of runs. "Outplayed" may be something you need to say if you are trying to run a blog and need to post opinions as often as you can but it doesn't reflect reality. Not only was it our first team against the second team but there was a lot of variability surrounding the physicality of both defenses (minimal), how quickly the refs blew the whistle after any contact, and what sort of blocking was going on up front as players were rotated through on each side.

It was a fun exercise for the players involved, the coaches will have film from three angles to critique technique and decision making, and the fans got to pick up a mild sunburn while watching their favorite players and listening to a hip hop-taylor swift sound track. That's it.

Well wasn't it just last week that Wilson wanted 27-30 million dollars a year? I'd say don't forget your yellow towel and don't buy trouble.

Relax, enjoy the ride and give John and Pete a legitimate chance to work their magic when the time comes.

Our FO has so far managed to keep everyone of the players they genuinely wanted to keep, although you might argue about Tate. They have been masterful and have found ways to continuously improve the team. Lots of interesting story lines from the scrimmage, many interesting thread lines too.

If Irvin would STFU, and just let his playing talk, presuming a monster year, there is little doubt the team would find a way to keep him and pay him too. For Irvin as well it could well depend on if he will play DE or OLB.

Everyone wondered about keeping Wagner, Wilson, Mebane and the others kept, yet they got done. Time will tell, but if he moves on after a monster year the Hawks will likely recoup a solid Comp pick.

I think you should consider the wisdom in Mizzou's above post.

This is great news from the DL perspective but bad news from an OL perspective.

Considering that a comp pick can't be any higher than a 3rd, a trade would need to bring way more than that to make sense out of letting Bennett go. I'm of the mindset that Irvin is not far from being extremely valuable, but big money for him has to come from within the LB corps.
