According to Peter King. 60 mil guaranteed and a 31 mil signing bonus. Phew.

21.9 mil average, slightly less than Aaron Rodgers 22 mil.

If true, congrats guys.

Looks like the Hawks budged where Wilson wanted (up-front and guarantees).

Edit:

The deal averages $21.9-miilion a year, a smidge less than top deal in football, Aaron Rodgers’ $22-million per.

Wilson and ‘Hawks beat a 1 p.m. ET (10 a.m. ET) deadline for a new deal. That’s how close the 2 sides came to a deal not getting done.

So glad, now we can get back to talking about football and not contracts, so glad Wilson is here to stay.

Such great news!

Interesting he accepted something less than 25 APY, and here I thought he was selfish

4 year extension on top of this year?

Or does this year count as one of the four?

Good Show. Bravo. He's a Seahawk like we all thought he'd be.

BOOM.

I think I can finally rest easy now.

Extension, I'm assuming. So we have him for the next 5 years.
It is an extension

Well, well, well......this is terrific news.

As the old saying goes, "you have to give in order to get" and it looks like both sides did that here. Russell didn't get the top-line number he wanted, nor does he hit free agency as soon as he might have liked, but he DOES get the guaranteed money that he wanted. Likewise the Seahawks are paying more in upfront money than they really wanted to (with the corresponding CAP problems), but do hold the line on the overall number and structure.

Goes to show that deadlines get things done.

Congrats, guys. I know how much it stinks to have to focus on contract talk instead of football talk.

Now that that's out of the way, here's hoping to a healthy season and to meet y'all in the NFC Championship.

Perfect timing too, that will be what's talked about now, not disgruntled players, not the SB and not Frank Clark.
