Pete had a little fun with clues about the Hawks' first "pick":

1st clue spitballing:

Prince is from Minnesota ... Maxx Williams?

Prince's name is Prince Roger Nelson ... Nelson Agholor is already taken ... Any Rogers out there?

Dave Chappelle is from D.C., lives in Yellow Springs, OH ... Michael Bennett from Ohio State?

Charlie Murphy ... Marcus Murphy from Mizzou could be a return specialist, which we need, but he's projected 7th round or UDFA, so that would be weird for the 1st clue. Charlie is from Brooklyn... ? Was in the Navy... ? Spent some time in jail as a kid... ?

Are we getting a basketball player?
Someone who likes pancakes?
Someone who wears blouses?

Something about pancakes..... O-line? That was the BF's suspicion. Makes sense.

Yeah, that's good.

2nd clue:

2PAC ... PAC-12 player? ...
'94? Someone born in '94? Wearing #94?

Just a hunch on the 2PAC clue.... Jeremiah Poutasi OT for University of Utah (PAC12) born in '94

And this would rule because I'm from Utah and I am DYING to see them pick up a Ute in this draft. His scouting report projects him going in round 5 though. Hmm...

Not locking this thread, because it's a good thread resource for looking back on after the draft is complete and it saves me the trouble of having to move the one we started yesterday before the draft day forum gets deleted next week, but for those interested there is more discussion that can be read on this here:

No worries, like I said, I was going to move it after the draft as it is something that is fun to follow, but then it is interesting to dissect after the draft is over and we know what the picks were. I'm just glad now that I don't have to worry about getting it moved before that forum goes back to the gameday forum and loses the draft talk.

JS wouldn't allow Pete to give out any real clues. Pete is playing with your heads.

He's been doing this for years and there's an article in the other thread that goes over the clues and if you look at them there is something in them that can lead to multiple players, but they do fit the players we end up taking.

I forgot to add the obvious, that event though JS is the GM, PC is the boss, JS works for Pete, not the other way around.

My wife just read that Common wrote a book called "Someday It Will All Make Sense." Is that supposed to explain the Frank Clark pick?
