If we do lose Schofield, we will need a pass rusher to fill his role at LEO in the 4-3 nickel package.

The dawn of the opening day of free agency brings with it projections by local beat writers of players they expect to see signed by their teams. In Atlanta, Vaughn McClure of ESPN.com lists O’Brien Schofield as the most likely signing. Schofield would follow new head coach Dan Quinn to Atlanta presumably filling a pass rushing role similar to that which he excecuted in Seattle. Schofield was strong down the stretch for the Seahawks last season with strong games against the Rams, Panthers and Patriots in the final four games of the season. In the playoff win over Carolina, Schofield earned a career high +5.2 overall grade racking up six pressures (2 Ht, 4 Hu) as the Seahawks took down the Panthers to advance to a second straight conference title game.
