Just announced on ESPN that the two sides are working towards a revised contract, which seems to contradict recent reports that he'd refuse a pay cut.

#Jets have been trying to lower Percy Harvin salary to keep him. Both admit that is unlikely outcome and want resolution before March 19

Jets have one of the larger salary cap pools out there. If they were to release Harvin, he'd have two choices:

take less money to go to a good team

or try to get the same money he was due, on a worse team. We're talking Raiders, Jacksonville, etc. I'm pretty sure that Bradley won't put up with his crap in Jax, just like we wouldn't here. So, realistically, he could probably get more money staying put or moving to Oakland.

The fact that Minny couldn't get rid of him fast enough, followed by us getting rid of him ultra quickly, then couple that with the Jets not thinking he's worth 10 million.....adds up to not a lot of teams willing to pay the guy. 10 mil/year isn't a bad number for a true #1 wideout that can tilt the field, but Harvin is proving he's not worth the head ache and he's not a true #1 WR.

on a serious note - is this the Jets pick that would be number 1 in the first round? If so basically a second 3rd round pick for Seattle.........

It's the 5th pick in R4. Currently 101st, but will drop back a few spots once comp picks are announced. That will come March 22 to 25 at the Annual NFL owners meetings.

What is the date again that the Jets have to make their decision? Is it Free Agency?
