He was the 3rd Alternate, and would have replaced Peyton Manning if the Hawks were not playing in the Super Bowl. Matthew Stafford was the 4th Alternate, and will now be going to the pro bowl instead. Obviously its not a major issue, but it would be nice to see Russell be named a pro bowler every year of his career. Just curious if anyone knows.
