The Seahawks influence

So the NFL has had 15 head coaching positions open in the last two years. Only four went to defensive coaches.
Jax. Gus Bradley, TB. Lovie Smith, Min. Mike Zimmer and Cle. Mike Pettine

Now this offseason has seen seven head coaching positions open.
The Falcons like either Lions DC Teryl Austin or Seahawks DC Dan Quinn
Buffalo hired Rex Ryan
John Fox is the favorite in Chicago
Denver seems to like Gary Kubiak
NY Jets hired AZ DC Todd Bowles
Oakland hired Broncos DC Jack Del Rio
49ers hired DL coach Jim Tomsula

So by my tally that's four defensive coaches hired with another two (ATL & CHI) rumored to be hiring defensive guys leaving only the Broncos hiring a offensive coach. 6 to 1

They say it's a copycat league and here is the proof everyone is copying the Seahawks.

You just cannot ignore success.

I predict a major shift in the League from Offensive to a Defensive mindset.

I give Seattle the cr3dit.

It was evident in the 2014 draft, too. As I-forget-who said on twitter: "I believe the LOB just got some young men paid".

Defense wins championships.

Super Bowl XLVIII was the most watched program in world history. Seattle's Defense put on a clinic in how to dismantle. "the greatest offense of all time."

The world saw it.

It would be stupid for other owners and coaches to ignore the formula.

Just a few years ago it was declared the age of needing a strong defense to win the SB was over... SMH....
