That's one goal. Right now I'm trying to max out my resources for a level 4 town hall. It takes a while because I'm not spending money on gems.

    Goals:
    - Improve your village
    - Get cups

You want to focus on improving your base as much as possible (walls, guns, etc) BEFORE improving your town hall any further. The reason being, as you increase town hall levels, attackers can get more cups and more importantly, more resources from you.

Take everything as high as you're allowed to with your current town hall level before upgrading the town hall itself (learn from my mistakes).

  • I love this game. I don't go for trophies. I just go for the Gold and Elixir. And I end up loosing every battle and loose trophies. So that I can attack people that are a lower level than me.
    Some Tips:
Get a laboratory when you get the chance and start upgrading your troops to higher levels.
Upgrade all defenses, Walls, and Gold and Elixir mines before upgrading your town hall. In fact upgrade everything to the highest level before upgrading your Town Hall. Or else you will fall behind and it will be harder for you to catch up. I made this mistake when I first started.
Get rid of trees, bushes, logs, and rocks for a chance to get a gems.
Don't use any gems until you have enough to buy yourself another builder. This will come in handy when you upgrade your town hall to higher levels.
When you attack other people make sure where their weak spots are. A lot of people will abandon their TH's and mines outside of there Walls. Also you want to attack people who have a lot of gold and elixir on their storages. I go for about 120,000+
Get yourself into a clan. You can request troops and they will attack any enemies.

  • It's so hard sometimes to save up enough resources for upgrades. I've been trying for a week to save up 700k elixir to upgrade one of my army barracks so I can have healers. Every time I get close I get attacked.

And right after I posted this I got raided and lost 122k in elixir. Now it will be tomorrow before I'll have enough to upgrade one of my barracks. This game can be so maddening sometimes.

  • Holy crap.
I've never even been to this forum, I thought it was all about fantasy football.
I play coc but have no clue what I'm doing.
I've got my stuff going fairly well but not in a clan.

    Image

I keep attacking with only one barbarian and then surrender. It keeps my trophies down so the big guys can't kill me.

    pmedic920 on this too.

If you have any gems that you want to use. Boost your production. It only cost 5-6 gems and last for 24 hrs.

  • The people in charge of the clan are in the process of reorganizing and creating a second, feeder clan for lower levels. They are only allowing new members to the main clan that are at least level 60 with a level 8 or higher town hall. After the current war I'm probably going to move down to the feeder clan since I'm almost useless in wars. I'll try to get more info about the feeder clan once I get home.

Trouble is, I have no idea what I'm doing. I'm just building stuff and hiding from the big dogs.

It's fun. It's the best part of the game and it's not complicated. The top 10 of your clan goes to war against the top 10 of the other clan. Each player gets 2 attacks and after 24 hours the team with the most stars wins. It's just like the regular raids except they keep a collective score. And you can help each other out by donating troops to one another. My clan's won more wars than it's lost and you get good bonus loot for winning.

    Thanks bro.
Trouble is, I have no idea what I'm doing. I'm just building stuff and hiding from the big dogs.
I've read some online but still don't have a good grasp of the ClanWars aspect.

Have you checked out my camp?
How do I match up with your clan?
I'd hate to take up a spot, and not be able to help the cause.

  • You look better off than me, although I have more trophies and am at a higher level. I don't have a barbarian yet and I haven't tapped into the dark elixir yet either. I just raid a lot so my trophies are up.

I do a lot of attacking with only one dude, then I surrender. I do that to loose trophies.
It keeps the big dogs from being able to blow my world up.
I'll join your clan but you may need to babysit me till I catch on.

  • I had to jump out of the clan I was in because people weren't contributing to my (pretty reasonable) standards and we were doing new clan wars every 2 days which were costing me over 1.2 million elixir every time. I started that new clan but probably gonna stay outta the clan war business for a little while, concentrate on upgrading some.

Yeah we jumped ship and left our old clan in a bit of a pickle. But that's what they get. I'd join up with y'all but like I said, taking a break from clan wars to upgrade my village.
