Finally got around to playing this game and I do love it. But there are parts of it that I don't quite understand. Am I supposed to keep getting killed by the God King? He's killed me twice so far and I can't figure out if that was supposed to happen or if I screwed up by fighting him too quickly.
What is the advantage to dying and starting a new bloodline? Is there one?
If I get into the room with him and I don't want to fight him, is there a way to back out of the room?

There is no ending to the game. IF you beat the God King, the game continues into the next generation.
The advantage of dying is keeping all your items and stats. Getting killed by the God King forces you to go to the next generation same thing as killing the God King.
IF you play until the black knight and die, you can "restart" from the beginning of the generation without any penalty.

Haven't played it. I'm currently playing through Dragon Age: Origins for the second time, but on hard difficulty this time. I'm about a quarter of the way through, and...wow. It's getting pretty damn hard, lol.
