So another message board I frequent started a keeper league this year, with an auctin draft. I've never done an autcion before but I gotta say I enjoyed it much more than the standard snake draft. Anyway, here's how my team ended up.

QBs: Jay Cutler ($10), Chad Henne ($3)
RBs: Ryan Grant ($33), Matt Forte ($23), C.J. Spiller ($20), Leon Washington ($5)
WRs: Andre Johnson ($48), Hakeem Nicks ($13), Mike Sims-Walker ($11), Derrick Mason ($6)
TEs: Owen Daniels ($9), John Carlson ($1)
PK: Mason Crosby ($1)
DE: Saints ($1)

The top five players by cost ended up being Chris Johnson ($65), Ray Rice ($62), Adrian Peterson ($58), Maurice Jones-Drew ($58) and Aaron Rodgers ($50).

Auction draft is definitely a lot more fun. I think it takes a lot more skill to build a team through an auction than through a standard draft.

I think people are often scared away by auction drafts thinking they won't get it.

Here's a mock-auction draft I did on yahoo! with 14 teams (many automated) with a $200 budget.

1. Ryan Grant (GB - RB) $42
2. Peyton Manning (Ind - QB) $25
3. DeSean Jackson (Phi - WR) $16
4. Ronnie Brown (Mia - RB) $28
5. Marques Colston (NO - WR) $18
6. Michael Crabtree (SF - WR) $17
7. Chad Ochocinco (Cin - WR) $12
8. Brett Favre (Min - QB) $5
9. Visanthe Shiancoe (Min - TE) $5
10. T.J. Houshmandzadeh (Sea - WR) $5
11. Reggie Bush (NO - RB) $6
12. Minnesota (Min - DEF) $7
13. Toby Gerhart (Min - RB) $1
14. Ryan Longwell (Min - K) $10
15. Laurence Maroney (NE - RB) $3
