  • My final try at mocking the Hawks draft. Just the measurables for now but will try and post videos later. I tried to mock us versatile, athletic players with good character and a competitive drive/strong motor. The exception being Charles Johnson (character red flag) who is a bit of a reach but well worth the risk IMHO.

    DRAFT

    2nd (#56): Brandon Williams, DT
    Height: 6'1"
    Weight: 335 lbs.
    Arms: 32.5"
    40: 5.32
    Vertical: 29.5"
    Broad Jump: 8'6"
    Bench: 38

"Experienced playing on the nose, defensive tackle and out wide as a five-technique defensive end and has the length and awareness to be similarly versatile in the NFL."
    -cbssports

    3rd (#87): TJ McDonald, WLB/SS
    Height: 6'3"
    Weight: 220 lbs.
    Arms: 33.2"
    40: 4.54
    Vertical: 40"
    Broad Jump: 10'11"
    Bench: 19

"Aggressive defender who attacks the line of scrimmage when he reads run. Physically takes on and shed blockers and is a lights-out hitter. Brings his hips to explode through the ballcarrier, yet wrapping his arms securely. Possesses good straight-line speed with a burst to close and the length to make tackles of ballcarriers seemingly out of his reach. Uses his height and physicality well to compete for jump balls. Good ball-skills. Dependable, no-nonsense player."

    4th (#123): Charles Johnson, WR
    Height: 6'2"
    Weight: 215 lbs.
    Arms: N/A
    40: 4.35
    Vertical: 40"
    Broad Jump: 11'1"
    Bench: 14

    5th (#138): Hugh Thornton OT/OG
    Height: 6'3"
    Weight: 320 lbs.
    Arms: 34.2"
    40: 5.09
    Vertical: N/A
    Broad Jump: N/A
    Bench: 27

"Thornton went through extreme difficulties as a child, seeing his parents get divorced, finding his mother and sister murdered while visiting them in Jamaica over Christmas break in 2004, and eventually moving to Ohio before his senior year in high school to live with his aunt after being abused by his father while living with him in Idaho...But Thornton fought through all of that to become a versatile lineman (started at both tackle spots and weak-side guard) and a solid mid-round interior prospect because of his upper-body strength and foot quickness."

    5th (#158): David Bass, DE/LEO

    Vertical: 30.5"
    Broad Jump: 9'3"

"Good first step quickness and natural burst off the snap. Plays with springs in his legs with good vertical and lateral movements. Active hands to defeat blocks with good awareness to find the ballcarrier. Plays assignment-sound football and has developed his instincts. Motivated individual with an excellent competitive drive. Positive locker room presence with strong character on and off the field."

  • Can't believe Sam McGuffie is in this draft. He had the most entertaining high school highlight reel that I ever saw, it's definitely worth a couple minutes of youtube time if you're so inclined.

  • For Brandon Williams, you forgot to mention what a great set of breasts he has.
    Machine-wrapped, with butter?
