Here's a RB I've mentioned in other post threads, but may have gotten buried. Now that the Hawks might be in the market for possibly drafting a RB to compete for the 3rd on the roster... I would be excited if they drafted Latavius Murray from UCF. He's a big back with speed, can catch the ball well, etc. Apparently after his pro day, he's getting more attention: http://www.orlandosentinel.com/sports/b ... 51350.post

Here's a worthwhile feature to watch on Murray:

Nice find of a potential late round guy for the Seahawks. He seems to run a little upright, but at his height that may be expected. The kid does have some pretty good wheels for his size and he has some wiggle to his game. Decent workout numbers, I have to wonder if he can play fullback with his size???? He seems to catch passes okay, not sure about his blocking abilities, but with his size and with his numbers - that's probably not a problem with good coaching. I could see the Seahawks using a late round pick on him just because of his size & speed.

""Latavius Murray, RB (6-foot-2 5/8, 223 pounds) — Murray ran the 40-yard dash in 4.40 and 4.38 seconds. He had a 10-foot-4 broad jump and a 36-inch vertical jump. He did the short shuttle in 4.36 seconds and the three-cone drill in 6.81 seconds. He also performed 22 lifts of 225 pounds on the bench press. Murray was not at the combine, but has had a lot of workouts with NFL teams. This is a hot prospect right now and will be a draftable guy later this month""

Interesting. Thanks, I hadn't read that. (I generally try to stay away from Walterfootball these days.)

Good find. Funny how he's from my backyard (upstate NY) and played college ball in your backyard in Orlando. Between Kevin Smith and now Latavius, UCF's had some pretty physically intimidating RB's the last few years.

I love his size and speed. Ricky Watters is one of my favorite Hawks of all-time, so I've naturally got love for upright runners. It'll be interesting to see which direction the team decides to go with regards to the #3 RB spot. A Leon-type change of pace guy like Kerwynn Williams? A potential project like Denard Robinson? Another bruiser in Murray? I could get on board with any one of these three.

Screw it, I'll be a homer in the most literal sense. I hope the interest in him is real and that he ends up a Hawk. We could use some NY representation.

My son played against Murray in high school. Murray is from Onondaga Central in the Syracuse area. This is the same school that Mike Hart (Univ. Michigan/ Ind. Colts) graduated from. Back then, he was VERY deceiving. He would appear to be just kind of loafing along then all of a sudden you realize that he just burned everybody and was on his way to another TD. I will say that he did have a habit of taking plays off if he wasn't directly involved. I assume that he no longer has that habit.
