Any chance Hawks give Tyrann Mathieu a sniff? He could fill a spot for a departing Tru and is an excellent return man. I would rather someone other than Percy return kickoffs and save his health?

Percy wants to return kicks and was told by Pete he would be, so that's gonna happen. He didn't return punts with the Vikings and I suspect that job will go to Golden, but Tyrann would be a nice option for punt return duty

Didn't we already try Golden as a punt returner, and he fumbled it away.

If we can get the honey badger in the 4, it would be a steal. It would also give us a guy who could potentially take over for Browner if we can resign him.

I do think we may consider trading down in the 2nd to the 3rd and take him early 3rd.

He fumbled a couple years ago, but this past preseason Tate returned a punt for a TD. We'll see what happens.

He is a playmaker who brings something special to the field, if his off field issues are truly in the past I think he'd be a special player to have. Mabye one of the few guys who could defend a guy like perc harvin. Small, qucik, and fast, but plays like bigger and hits like a saftey. I see some Earl Thomas in him and if he could be had in the 3rd or 4th that would be amazing, I don't want o spend our 2nd on him but if that's what it takes to address our nickel and turn it into a strenght then it is probably worth it.

Perfect draft for me

2. LB Aurther Brown/Kaseem Green
3. TE Jordan Reed/Escobar/McDonald/Kelce
4. CB Tyrann Mathaiu
5. WR Aaron Dobson/Hamilton/Harrison
5. DT Kwame Gathers/Montari Hughes

I wouldn't care what happens after that

That's one of my favorite mock drafts I've seen so far.

Regarding Mathaiu, I'd be surprised if he falls past the 4th round. And if he's there for Seattle, he'll be the pick. It's just a guess, but I don't think nfl coaches look at weed smoking as bad of a thing as CFB coaches and schools do.

4 reps at 225 at the combine. Watch his last 2 games against Alabama and you'll see him getting pushed around. He's not NFL level good. No thank you.

So what is the norm for bench at 220 for defensive back? I don't think it matters.

7 reps was the worst last year out of 30 some odd players. My opinion stems from him against Alabama, which is the most pro level physical team in college ball and he was pushed around. Bench is just another measure of upper body strength when tackling and press coverage. His value is more as a return specialist.

Alabama has a way of making good players look bad.

Won't surprise me if he goes undrafted.

Because he doesn't have the talent or because of off field issues? He is not Vontaz Burfict. Mathiau was a heisman canidate andteam leader. He doesn't have attitude problmes he just had drug problems. Plenty of people have been there and made it out. I think his issues are way overblow. 2 inches and 2 clean drug tests and he's a top 10 pick.

Want to wager something that he gets drafted? I'm confident he will. It is very hard to tell where he will go I think 2nd to 4th is the most likely. He is probably not even on some teams boards so that could make him drop but eventually he will be too talented to pass up. If we are truely all in this year I expect to see a crazy move during the draft.

Trade up in the 2nd for a TE like Ertz, drafting Mathiau in the 2nd to start at nickel from day one, and drafting a WR in the 2nd would all make people say WTF but i could make a good argument for each.

We should in the latter rounds. His talent isn't the question. He has a better chance to make the team than most later round picks would.

He won't be there in the latter rounds. I predict mid 2nd to mid 3rd (which means we have to take him @ 56 if we want him). People who question his 4 reps on the bench are ignoring the fact that he can improve that # significantly on an NFL training program. The guys who benched 15-25 reps will never develop Mathieu's instincts or knack for creating turnovers. This is the kind of playmaker that puts a D like ours over the top.

Perfect addition to the Legion of Boom @ nickel.

This should be everyone's favorite mock. But do you really think we could pick 12 players just 5 draft picks?

He scares me. Both ways. He's a scary talent as a punt returner and, for us,
nickel corner. Really good football player who seems stuck at about age 12
mentally. Willful and a little devious.

Being a smurf is one thing, but a smerf with multiple off field concerns? No thanks, there are several other players that could fill the slot corner position that don't have a cancer that they bring into the clubhouse. It's not just the multiple weed problems, this guy has maturity and most of all judgement issues that will probably drop him to the later rounds, if he gets drafted at all. Too much of a headache.
He needs to go to the whiners where he can slowly disrupt their clubhouse and bring them all down-IMO.

If they were to sniff, I think they would find he smells like crap, not honey.
