I think we all agree that Pete and John are excellent drafters. But they have made some mistakes, like any front office.
Which draft pick makes you shake your head the most?
For me it's Durham.

I hated Charlie Whitehurst trade more than any other move by our FO. Why give up a 3rd pick for a guy who is a 3rd stringer? Not only that, they also switched the 2nd round picks for him if I am not wrong.

That could be their worst move to date, although I think the sense of desperation trying to find someone at QB was a big factor.

Where's Carpenter? That pick could have been Jimmy Smith.
IMO, no pick below a 4th rounder can be the worst one. You have to take a lot of fliers.

None of the five I listed are even on the team anymore, even though it's only been a few seasons, and I think Durham is the only one even on a roster right now.

I would say Moffitt. I think he still is serviceable , but more or less a backup guard. Carp has been effective as a starting guard when healthy. He just came back too soon IMO

Even if Carpenter has had a few moments of quality play when healthy, and argument could still be made that he was the worst pick based on 1st round status alone. The expectations are much higher for a first rounder. He wouldn't be my choice as their worst pick but I know some feel that way

EJ Wilson, because he never even came close to making the team. In that regard I would call it a tie between Wilson and LeGree.

Among those, probably EJ.
In a few years, I think we're going to be saying Bruce Irvin. Also, I didn't like the James Carpenter pick at the time, and still don't. I don't like using first round picks on OL that don't play LT or center. Although, to be honest, the guy I was really clamoring for with that pick was Mark Ingram. Aside from the fact that he has looked mostly ordinary, and we clearly don't need him, I also said on a number of occasions that he had "Adrian Peterson potential". Not to say he's already a bust, but I haven't seen much from Ingram the past two years that agrees with the lofty expectations I had for him.

It will be Moffit.
Unless Irvin becomes a third down only speed rush 'specialist' for another team after 4 more years of development.

Seahawks.com shows Korey Toomer still on the roster. Don't think he should be included on this list at all. I voted for EJ Wilson. He's really the only choice as he never made the roster and was a 4th round pick.

It was hardly his fault and most surely was NOT a bad pick by Johnny-wohnny and Petey-pie. It was simply bad luck. For all involved.

Voted for EJ Wilson. At least Durham hung around for a while. Also, you know you suck when you're a 4th round pick and you can't last on the 2010 roster. Not only that, Seattle had a rash of injuries on the DL that season and instead of promoting Wilson, they put him on waivers. Injury excuse or not, that's a pretty easy pick. IMO, no pick below a 4th rounder can be the worst one. You have to take a lot of fliers. Jimmy Smith, nickle CB? The guy with 11 PDs and 2 INT's over 2 seasons? I know Rob loved Smith, but I felt completely the opposite. I'm interested to see what Carpenter does in 2013. He was an overweight rookie in 2011 and wasn't fully recovered from a knee injury in 2012. I thought he looked pretty solid last year which is encouraging because he wasn't 100% health wise. He reminds me of the kind of O-lineman that the 49ers kill defenses with- a huge road grader that is passable at everything else. And also, the options at #25 sucked in 2011. They sucked badly. Of all the players that went right after #25 that year, I'm not sure I'd trade Carpenter for any of them. I have to go all the way to #37 to find a player I would gladly swap Carpenter for right now. People shouldn't really treat Carpenter like a 1st round pick. That was almost a 3rd round level talent pool, IMO.

Hard to choose, but I would say EJ. Durham I have a feeling may be back in camp somewhere this off season. He's had time to recoup from his surgery...more than he had last season. If he returns to football he may still do alright somewhere.

Durham finished last season on Detroit's active roster when Young was suspended. He made a few catches and even had a TD. I thought he was healthy?

Part of a #1 pick is getting use out of him, so Carpenter will have to really turn it on in years 3-4 to justify the pick, imo. My belief is had we taken Muhammad Wilkerson instead (he went #30 to the Jets), we would have won the Super Bowl. He's the best player on the Jets roster for the money he's making and hasn't missed a game
