Last year, I did a piece on Joel Bitonio, and how he compared with his class and with the top performers in the combine going back to 2011.

I've added this year's OL results to that compilation and here are the top 25 of all OL participants for the period 2011 through 2015.

Thanks for posting. Not trying to hijack but I wanted to do some comparisons with Okung. Couldn't find much.

Tried to find some Okung info but he had a groin pull at the combine so no short shuttle or 3 cone data available. He had 38 reps though and a mediocre 5.18 40 yard dash. 36" arms and 10.5" hands. What a prospect.

It's kind of fun to look back at his available data and pretend if he was a prospect this year. I would still be jazzed. Funny thing is, I wanted Trent Williams and Eric Berry and was disappointed when Shannahan took Trent and KC grabbed Berry. Good thing too because Earl has been the difference make on defense.

The one thing that I liked about Okung the most was the way he "squatted" at the Oline. He would get so low it was amazing. Nobody could call him a "waist-bender." The other great stat was "47 straight starts." I still think his injuries have been down to bad luck. Hamilton falling on his ankle, then IIRC Trent Cole trying to yank his arm out of his socket.

I'm predicting Okung will be healthier for the rest of his career as he has learned how better to take care of his body. Remember Floyd "Porkchop" Womack? Couldn't stay healthy until his contract year.

Good article by Farrar on Okung and Williams:

Random combine data from that year. Interesting to see some of those guys stats then how they turned out.

Found these too, this was funny:

Okung: ""I don't really see the point in an offensive lineman running out 40 yards unless you're about to knock off a safety," he said. "You don't really get that opportunity a lot, so the 40 really just wasn't that important to me.""

Jake Fisher is off the charts. Where is he currently projected?

He's been listed around the 9th to 12th rated tackle prospect pre combine. Currently has elevated to late first, top of 2nd round post combine.

My take:

If a team sees him as a LT, he'll go 10-25. If they don't he'll go 30-45. Expect him to kind of come back to earth a bit. He should go higher than Bitonio did last year, as he's a pure tackle prospect.

There is the chance though he just continues to climb. Unlike last year, the top OTs in this draft aren't really dominant testing candidates. Fisher could continue to rise, if the top end of this class starts to slide as a whole. Scherff, Clemmings, Collins, Peat and Flowers aren't in the same class from a movement perspective. If this group just starts to slide as teams second guess their athletic quality -- Fisher could rise comparatively.

I would rather not use our 1st on OL by would be that upset.
Not me.

I hope that Pete and John adopt the Dallas model if the right O-lineman is available.

That, or a CB to replace Maxwell. Simon doesn't look to be a starter and Lane's injuries are severe.
