Now that the regular college season is all but over, maybe some of the draft ranking sites will dig a little deeper into their rankings. With the all star games and combine still way off they should have the time. I've been following a few players I like as potential Seahawks picks. I see some differences between the current ratings and where I believe the player's season stats show those ratings to be really out of whack. Obviously stats are NOT the end all/be all of player evaluations but they are important. It just seems to me the players listed below aren't being fully credited with their performances & as such are underrated values in the draft. At this point, pending further review, I can see potential Seahawks picks in Rd-3 Smith, Rd-4 Dawson, (if gone then Vigil) and Rd-6 Hardison=(maybe), but I like them all.

1----Currently ranked at #360-overall, (FA) at cbssports -- #320-overall (Rd 7/FA) at nfldraftscout -- not listed at all at draftek---------------: In my opinion, this kid should be considered in the 3rd or 4th Rd at the very worst.

ILB-Zach Vigil, Utah St, 6-1.5/240, 4.86/40, 145-TKLS = #3 IN FBS, (11.1-TKLS/game), 19.5-TFL = #7 IN FBS, 9-SACKS = #20 in FBS, 1-INT. (for 35-Yds/1-TD), 3-PBU, 5-QB-Hurries, 1-FF. (long speed is big ?, Do fast 10/20 yard splits + instincts offset long speed? Combine #'s needed.)

2----Currently ranked at #165-overall, (Rd. 5) at cbssports, -- #166-overall (Rd 5) at nfldraftscout -- not listed at all at draftek---------------: Production +, why isn't this guy talked about, IMO he's a mid 2-nd/late 3rd Rd pick. I hope the Seahawks can get him Rd 3 or 4 'cause I think he'd fit right in quickly, KJ who?

OLB-Paul Dawson, TCU, 6-1.5/230, 4/76/40, #11 in FBS with 128-TKLS (10.67-tkls/game), #9 in FBS with 18.5-TFL, also: 4-INT for 48-yds/1-TD, 5-SACKS, 5-PBU, 5-QBH, and 2-FF. (those are WOW #'s and at halftime, he sells peanuts in the stands just to try to get noticed. From tape I've watched so far, he's a 2-nd round talent.)

3----Currently ranked at #91-overall (Rd 3/4) at cbssports. -- #125-overall (Rd 4) at nfldraftscout -- #203-overall at draftek
---------------: A gem, in my opinion worthy of a Rd 2 or 3 selection at worst. Hope the Seahawks get him in Rd 3?, just look at these #'s.

DE-Preston Smith, Mississippi ST. 6-4.5/270, 4.92/40, 44-TKLS. 14.5-TFL 9-SACKS, 3-PBU, 15-QBH, 2-FF, 2-BLKD KICKS, 2-INT. FOR 35-YDS/1-TD. (he doesn't have a motor, he has a whole damn power plant,- great #'s.)

4----Currently ranked at #299-overall (Rd. 7/FA) at cbssports -- #299-overall, (Rd 7/FA) at nfldraftscout -- not listed at all at draftek---------------: This sort of production should be worthy of a mid-late Rd pick, even as a rotational DT, I'd say RD 5/6 value at the very least.

DT-Marcus Hardison, Arizona St. 6-42/300, 4.96/40, 40-TKLS, 2-INT. 1-FR, 14.0-TFL, 10-SACKS, 2-PBU, 3-FF (Pretty darn good #'s there.)

5----Sleeper?------Currently ranked at #437-overall, (FA) at cbssports, -- #343-overall (FA) at nfldraftscout -- not listed at all at draftek---------------: Is he a real tackling machine as indicated by his #'s? Speed, Burst =?'s, Gotta be worth a late round flier/UDFA signing to see, he's been a busy guy.

ILB-David Mayo, Texas St.,6-016/228, 4.83/40, #1 in FBS with 154 total TKLS, 12.83-TKLS/game, 4.5-TFL, 1.5-SACKS, 4-QBH, 2-PBU, 3-FF
