Can Christian Haynes excel at LG?

Everyone is projecting him at guard…not tackle. That is not unusual for players that played tackle in college but don’t have the athletic ability to stay at tackle in the NFL. Laumea is projected at guard in the NFL. Given his ability no reason to not think he could compete or learn LG.

Can Christian Haynes excel at LG?

Haynes can compete at RG….good chance he is the starter. Let Laumea learn for a year behind Tomlinson, then take over LG in 2025.

Some promising news at NT thankfully!

I’m not concerned about Young’s size….just his inexperience and lack of depth behind him. 😁

Some promising news at NT thankfully!

That is a good point and could be the plan on passing downs or even in rotation. After adding Edwards, they could run a front of Edwards (DE) Reed (NT), Jones (DE) front time to time.

Some promising news at NT thankfully!

Seahawks had one of the worst run defenses in the league in 2022. NT is the key initial point of the 3-4 defense needed to stop the run Otherwise you get gouged up the middle for chunk plays. The concern regarding lack of depth at NT is viable concern. Relying on a rookie NT and UDFA’s seems...

Which rookie will make the biggest impact in 2023 ?

Cameron Young. At this point we are counting on him to be the anchor in the middle of our D Line.

    Yet another Frank Clark post.

    I don’t believe he can. He’s a pure 4-3 DE.

    Mike Morris video play analysis

I’m liking our DE rotation right now. Dre’mont Jones, Morris Jarran Reed, Edwards Jr That is miles ahead of last season, IMO.

Some promising news at NT thankfully!

Glad to see positive Reports on C. Young. Even if it doesn't carry much weight yet….yes pun intended. 😉 I’m still concerned about the NT position given how much the 3-4 defense relies on that position to set hold the middle and set the tone in run defense. We saw how long the best looking...

Rob Staton on 710 MUST listen

Yes, I read his content and read here. Plenty of good quality content in both places. Neither is without faults.

Rob Staton on 710 MUST listen

Sounds like a lot of sour grapes in this thread. Pettiness is not becoming of anyone.

Dan Quinn's Magnificent Rotation of Eight

Long shot to make the roster, but anything is possible.

Dan Quinn's Magnificent Rotation of Eight

I would say our D-Line is starting to shape up, much better. OLBer: Nwosu, Taylor, Smith DE: Reed, Edwards Jr, NT: Young (R), Merrill, Faoliu, Cooper (UDFA) DE: Jones, Adams, Morris (R) OLBer: Mafe, Hall, Robinson Awfully young at the NT position, but lots of youth and upside.

Seahawks signs DE Mario Edwards, NT Forrest Merrill

Lol……Edwards looks to be a nice depth signing and run stopper at DE on the line. DE depth shaping up nicely. Long shot NT signing there in Merrill. I guess rotational depth or deeeeeeeeep depth down the chart. 😁

    This photo is SWEET AF!!!!!!

The roster lists him at 5’11” and 234#.

Yes, I believe that is correct.

Why '23 will be better than '22: Front 7

That’s how I see it right now, as well. I think Young can be good in time, but they need at least one veteran body that can play NT (1T). I think it could be a very exciting group if they solve the 1T issue.

Why '23 will be better than '22: Front 7

I think maybe the discussion has gotten lost in the hyperbole. Is it sound strategy to invite the best UDFa’s you can to camp every year and see if you can find a diamond in the rough or two to fill out the back end Of the roster and possibly become something more down the line? Of course it...

Why '23 will be better than '22: Front 7

Also, just to play along……how many UDFA has the Hawks invited to camp during the years covering those players careers you just listed? What roughly do you think, was the percent of those UDFA’s that were invited to camp during those years became starters in the NFL in their first year? just...

Why '23 will be better than '22: Front 7

Let’s see……how many of those were starters week one of year one? 🤔🤔 Point stands……..relying on an UDFA to start is a recipe for disaster.
