    Michael Sam

After watching Sam at the Combine I think the 49ers would be a good fit for him. Preferably with a high draft pick.

    Michael Sam

High motor/effort/mentally tough: Yes Average skill set: No Even in the late rounds PC and JS are looking for players with some type of physical attribute that stands out, and from what I saw of Sam today he doesn't have that. There's nothing exceptional about his size, strength, speed, or...

SDSt RB Adam Muema really wants to be a Seahawk

I don't. Sounds like a head case. Who knows when God will tell him to stop wearing clothes or live entirely on a diet of radishes?

    Michael Sam

Yeah, I wasn't impressed at all with what I saw. He's not particularly fast, strong, athletic, or agile, looked stiff running the drills, and lacks the explosiveness and versatility that Carroll covets in defensive players. I seriously doubt the Hawks would draft him.

SEC DPOTY: Michael Sam announced he is gay

I've been watching the NFL Combine today and Michael Sam doesn't really have the qualities that Pete Carroll and John Schneider look for in a player. He's not particularly fast, strong, agile, or athletic and is fairly stiff when running the drills. He's strictly a situational pass rusher, at...

    Re: Foles

The jury is still out on Foles. We'll need to see how he does next year after DCs have the full offseason to gameplan for the Eagles offense. His TD/INT ratio is unsustainable so that will almost certainly regress even if he has a good season next year.

    PFF Depth Chart rankings

Yeah i'd rank Kam as elite and Wagner as a high level starter, otherwise it looks pretty accurate. The OL definitely stands out as the weakest unit on the team. If we do nothing more than improve the OL and keep Harvin healthy the offense should be significantly better next year.

Projections for this year's offensive line

I expect the Hawks to acquire at least two or three more linemen in the draft and free agency so its way too early to make projections about starters beyond Okung and Unger. We also don't know if Breno will be back.

NFL coaches on Wilson, according to Cossell

The Manchurian Candidate! I got the brainwashing reference right away and it does sound a bit like some media talking heads and coaches who seem programmed to gush like infatuated schoolgirls over Luck no matter what he does or doesn't do on the field. Meanwhile Russell Wilson continues to have...

NFL coaches on Wilson, according to Cossell

I don't think they intentionally tanked but with the triumvirate of Kerry Collins, Dan Orlovsky, and Curtis Painter playing quarterback they might as well have. And it can't be true that there was a large turnover in personnel because Luck gets all the credit for the improved Colts record. He...

NFL coaches on Wilson, according to Cossell

Pay no attention to Russell Wilson's better stats in both college and the NFL. Andrew Luck is the better quarterback. It is self-evident. As best I can tell that's the gist of the argument in his favor anyway. And he's better than Russell Wilson in a parallel universe where their teams are...

Holy Crap: Browns nearly traded with 49ers for Jim Harbaugh

I think there was some truth to the story about the discussions with the Browns but it was probably somewhat overblown about how far they went. There are enough rumors floating around, though, that makes me think that there are real problems down in Ninerville. I know that Colin Cowherd has...

NFL coaches on Wilson, according to Cossell

What!!?? I can think of at least two games this season (Texans, Bucs) where Wilson put the team on his back and led them to a win from a large deficit. Lose those two games and there's no guarantee that an 11-5 record even makes the playoffs this year in the NFC. And that's not including...

NFL coaches on Wilson, according to Cossell

It's done all the time. Otherwise how could you claim that Luck has been better than, say, Brandon Weeden who has been playing with inferior personnel with the Browns? All starting quarterbacks play with varying quality of personnel surrounding them and in different schemes, yet we make...

NFL coaches on Wilson, according to Cossell

Here's a challenge: can anyone still claiming Luck is a better QB than Wilson provide any argument not involving unprovable hypothetical situations (if they reversed teams Luck would have had equal/more success), vague premises (Luck shoulders a greater burden), or appeals to authority (most GMs...

NFL coaches on Wilson, according to Cossell

I don't mean to jump down your throat, JMR, but I've been in this debate on other forums and Luck's supporters consistently want to ignore real world stats and results in favor of the type of vague premises you are using. Has a lot been placed on Luck's shoulders? Sure. Well how about being...

NFL coaches on Wilson, according to Cossell

He shoulders more and produces less. Fewer touchdown passes, fewer yards per attempt, fewer points per game, and fewer wins while playing in a weak division and against softer defenses. Andrew Luck fans never provide any stats to help back up their claims of why he should be considered the...

NFL coaches on Wilson, according to Cossell

I think Andrew Luck is one of the most overrated QBs in the league. He was a turnover machine in his rookie season so the Colts' new OC this year tried to take pressure off of him by establishing a power running game. It helped a bit since Luck's passing attempts and turnovers were down but...

Hawkblogger: rumors of a 4 year contract for Tate

I hope Tate is re-signed but Russell Wilson is going to see a lot of friends leave over the years. I know it sounds harsh but the NFL is a cutthroat business and loyalty and friendship should mean little in contract negotiations because a few bad contracts can sink a team.
