Give me a scouting report on your favorite college team.

University of Kentucky Wildcats Reasons for Optimism: We've got a new coaching staff! New HC Mark Stoops was the DC at Florida State for the last few years, and he brings in Texas Tech OC (and former UK WR) Neal Brown to bring back the Air Raid offense of the Tim Couch era. He also brings in...

    Flynn likely to be back

This has always been the most likely scenario to me, just based off of pure salary cap logic. Cutting Flynn this year only saves $1.25 million in cap space. Factor in finding another competent backup and its probably a wash, at best. Cutting him next year, however, saves us $6.25 million under...

Connor Barwin to Philly - 6 years/$36 million

Yea, only $8 million in guaranteed money in the deal, actually. I initially saw the 6/36 and assumed the guaranteed money had to be around $15 million or so. Not a bad deal for Philly at all. If he produces like 2011, $6 million/year is a bargain and, if not, they can cut bait and move on...

Connor Barwin to Philly - 6 years/$36 million

Worth up to $40 million with incentives. That Avril deal is looking better and better.

    Glenn Dorsey to SF

Agreed. I wasn't totally on board with Jones at 25, but if we were to get him at 56 I'd be very happy. Would be a nice replacement for Jason Jones with the potential to bulk up into a full-time 3 tech after a couple of years.

Colts having a pretty nice day

I agree. Solid pick-ups overall. One more solid draft and they'll be set up pretty well for the long haul. Still think they need a bit more help up front to protect Luck, but I like the Donald Thomas signing. Cooper from UNC would be a nice pick for them to solidify that line.

    UPDATED: Harvin's contract 6y/$67m $14.5m guaranteed

Could be, I was wondering how that worked.

    UPDATED: Harvin's contract 6y/$67m $14.5m guaranteed

As pointed out below, bonus is prorated over first 5 years, total cap hits (and dead money) by year would be: 2013 - $4.9 million ($25.5 dead money) 2014 - $13.4 million ($20.6 million dead) 2015 - $12.9 million ($7.2 million dead) 2016 - $12.3 million ($4.8 million dead) 2017 - $12.35 million...

Seahawks Salary Information (updated with Kam's details)

Not sure if anyone has posted a link to it already, but http://www.overthecap.com is a good resource for cap stuff. They've got us listed at roughly $17M in cap space, which I believe is updated to the $123M cap. Pretty interesting site in general, and seems to be pretty accurate.

    New Defensive philosophy

I can't say I'm not excited about the prospect of being a bit more aggressive, especially with our 'backers. Honestly, my hope for the last few months has been that Jarvis Jones' health issues scare teams off to the point that he falls to us. Bump KJ to Mike and Bobby to Will, and you've got a...

Is there any Earl Backups in the draft??

I agree, I think it's a definite need in the mid-to-late rounds. Maybe as high as the 3rd if someone drops. My pick... D.J. Swearinger, South Carolina - 5'11 210 lbs Pretty Underrated, in my opinion. Good range, but can really bring it against the run too.

If Seattle did draft a DT at #25...

I was just about to make a thread about Hill. Not the biggest or most athletic guy, but his motor is non-stop and he gets off blocks well. Closes quick once he's gets free too. Granted, I only saw two videos of him, and one was essentially the game of his career against Wisconsin, but I'm very...
